fire. 'nuff said. :)
The logical thing would be frost, as you will be aoe grinding at 40 anyways. You won't even need to respec if you put your points in right. I'm fire, so I don't know anything about frost. I'll leave that to others.
But seriously. I don't think the spec really matters that much. You can kill things as fire or frost, maybe even arcane (don't know anything about that tree).
don't know how to link my build. But I think it's good not to rely on others to show you how to do your build. sometimes you have to figure things out for yourself. I did. I just put points in things that do more damage :). There are subtleties in the fire tree though like the talent that causes scorch to cause fire vulnerability. that's more useful in instances, however; not for solo grinding. just use some common sense.
and really you can just figure out how to shorten an end game build to a half game build. just cut the bottom part of the tree off :). You may have to adjust a talent here and there. I already mentioned fire vulnerability. if you aren't going to run instances (and the lower level instances things die so fast anyways, you don't really need that), you probably don't need that talent. So if you go fire, just put points in talents that improve damage (either directly or indirectly). if you mess up a couple points, no bigge. Build doesn't have to be perfect as you are respeccing at 40.
