How big will this effect rupture DPS wise, and will it now become a crappy finisher in arenas (with 400 resil, sheesh)?

Ughh....you know, with all the talk about locks and dots, I totally forgot about rupture.

considering rupture lets say ticks for what? 225? knocks it down to a smidge over 200 a tick if they have... i dunno.... like 700 resilience (and if resilience didnt hardcap)

realistically, we're talking like -15 dmg a tick about, maybe

not a big hurt, still ahead of evis is terms of raw dps... since crits get twice the gimp a rupture would (or deadly poison maybe? garrote?)

no big deal to use... since its a small fraction of our dps

Tooltip is 1000 damage for a 5pt.

So on 400 resilience, that is 900 total damage done now.

That is of course not doing the math of how Rupture multiplies with AP, but we are only losing 10-12% of total Rupture assuming 400(10%) or 494(12.x%) resil.

I don't think the nerf is enough to make rupture a crappy finisher. Yes it's always affected by resilience, but against high armor targets it should still come out ahead of eviscerate. Bliz has said that you're looking at a maximum nerf of about 10%.

The nerf may actually make EA the better choice now. I know there's been a lot of debate about the effectiveness of EA in the arenas, but this could make it a considerably better choice for certain situations.

Rupture is still usually better in arenas like 2v2 and 3v3. In 5v5 where you're more likely to have physical DPS on your same target, it becomes more worthwhile.

Ahh yeah I shouldn't be whining. Locks have it worse.
