I never go far out of my way to find gear when I level. Some people will farm an instance over and over for a specific drop, all a waste of time imo. Scan the AH, buy decent greens, you don't need to update every level. Keep everything reasonably up to date, dont fret when you cant find gear. Just do tons of quests, I'd highly recommend following a leveling guide, OR aoe grind. If you AOE grind just try to have intellect on everything.

In my early 40's, I was usually fond of "Eagle" equipment. Later on, a tailor in my guild crafted me the Dreameweave Armor "Set" (set as in it's the same name, but no set bonus being applied". It consists of gloves, a headpiece and a vest, but overall it gives you +23 to intellect, +33 to spirit and +57 spell damage. If you round that out with some Eagle/Owl greens, you'll be doing okay. The Dreameweave set is usable at level 45, is not BoP, and can be realatively easy to make.

Do the BG's. Espically AB. They have some very good gear rewards for honor and badges.

Best advice: ask Addramech (spelling?).

He's really passionate about gear issues and will rip you up if you don't have the best gear at your level (blues/purples etc. No greens!).

No need, i'll reply. I'd say to use dreamweave (You may want to replace the dreamweave body with robe of power, it all depends on what you want. Both are about as good, with a bit of different stats).

For weapon, get a zum'rah vexing cane, or go for an inventors focal sword at lv 48 (Hypnotic blade before), with a celestial orb in offhand. You can look these items up here on alla.

For head, go for whitemane's chapeau, and Dreamweave circlet once you get the level. Belt, Highlanders (PVP reward) belt is great. You can keep using the belt all the way to outland, it beats most outland greens (Which says a lot).

Bracers, Dryads wrist bindings are the way to go. Ruby ring of destruction (Cheap greenie) is pretty good, as it has +crit rating for your spells. For pants, red mageweave pants do great until you can get sacred cloth leggings.

Boots, PvP are good, but the acidic walkers from gnomeregan (low level but very good) can do fine too. You may be able to solo them.

- And i'm not ripping anyone up.. It just annoys me sometimes when people are lazy about gear to the point they wear utter junk. I don't care about you wearing greens or purples, but if you wear all greens with an of the boar enchantment, a level 17 healing belt quest reward, a dagger with an Of Power enchant and a "Brown linen robe of healing", something is wrong. And i'll say it is.
