Hey ya'll. The patch made me change my UI. Which is fine.

Here is my question. With Mazzle I could tell I had threat b/c my bar menu screen would change to red...

Well Omen and KTM don't do that. It mentions that your groupmates must have something similar to gather accurate data.

Could someone provide more info on these two addons or provide an alternative addon that helps tanks?

KTM will give you everyones threat in your group as long as everyone in your group has KTM as there own addon, therefore those that dont have it dont show up, thought most level 70 guilds make this or at least a similar mod manditory so your group showing up on the metre should not be a problem.

If everyone in the party has the mod, it shows how much threat each member of the party has on the mob. It allows the dps the see if they need to back off a bit, or the tank to see they need to ramp it up. From my experience, and from what I've read, Omen handles individual mob threat a bit better than KTM. Also, Omen can send and receive data from KTM, while KTM can't read Omen data.
