One of my coworkers is a warlock, and he's a casual player at level 42. Now, this is the build he told me has... http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=I
uh...I got nothing.

(Links aint working right now, at least on preview message)

The link works, all right... but it links to a talent calculator with no points assigned. Horrible build, fer sure... ;)

BTW, links don't work ever on the preview message... they used to, but it not anymore... If you're not sure you linked right, post anyway and edit later...

You need to click "link to this build" in the top right corner to get it to show the real (not 0/0/0) link.

No, I linked the right build. That's the point.

he's got skillz if he's rolling with a 0/0/0 build and can still win in bg's or the like.

frankly I doubt that's what you were posting to show us so I'll just guess that he didn't see the flashing yellow boardered icon in his character tray for the last 32 levels

He said "I've been too busy levelling to train my talent points." Of course, he's got enough time to run to the nearest city and train up skills (yes run, not fly, he didn't use flight points until after he got his mount because he didn't realize they were there).

He's also only got the imp and VW, has yet to do succy or felhunter quests.

wow, just wow.

And his excuse is no time?

Does he not realize that he could spend those point swhile flying somewhere? And that they would actually make his levelling faster?

Wow. I'm literally stunned, I mean I can't wait to spend my next talent point.

We should be humble and revere him. This guy must REALLY appreciate WoW if he finds no time to spend his talent points. My master! Command and I'll obey!

Okay, okay, a bit of serious now. I would be curious to play my lock without any points in the talent tree. Just to see the difference. Anybody has 50G to spend?

I know one guy who is like a level 35 druid with no talent points spent. He's too afraid of putting them in the wrong spot I think, and doesn't have the money to repeated respecs. I tried to show him my druid build, it's a solid tanking/dps build.

but you just can't convince some people. He was struggling with elites, which he wouldn't be if he had talent points assigned. As in my opinion druids handle elites very well, only behind locks and hunters.

In any case try to find a build for him and recommend it. He probably won't go for it, but it's worth a try.

If you dont pay for his account and he is having fun what exactly does it make your business?

did you tell him HOW to spend his talent points? Its seems you should be a good friend and help him out rather than laugh at him (well you can laugh first but then help him out). A simple, you don't need to spend time to train in talent points, you just press a button no matter where you are. You can also show him where flight points are. We were all brand new at one point and if I didn't have a friend to tell me about talent points I wouldn't have even looked for them.

Isn't that the "Manly Man" build?

I'd serious have a talk with him. If he actually likes playing the game, I'm sure he can spend about ten minutes reading each skill and figure out which talents seem like a good idea to have. Lowering cast time? Sound's good doesn't it? Increase the amount drained by your drain life by 2% for each affliction effect the target has? Winner? Improve your lifetap by 10/20%? I think that rocks. Granted all of those are in the affliction tree, I'm sure there's something worth picking up in the other 2 trees.

More then likely it's because he doesn't quite know how to spec. I don't believe I'm doing this, however it does have some good data. Here's a link to the O-board: In Depth Warlock FAQ Have him look at this thread, really good info on there.

I'd say it's his business in the sense that he can actually help his mate player better, faster and more fun and tbh, short of taking up a bet to do 1-70 with no talent points I can't see it being very 'fun'....

tbh seeing as he's your mate you might want to explain to him the 'ins and outs' of this game before he makes a complete fool of himself and quits due to to many people laughing at him

Wanna bet Jenova that if I walked around in my fishing outfit without a single talent point used none on my server would dare laugh at me? Or in whole freaking game for that matter.

And why on earth would someone quit some game they like if some idiotic kids they are never going to actually meet are laughing or not?
WoW matters too mucho?

If he was my mate I would talk to him and never put something like that on public forum to make fun of him.
But then, my ideas of friendship must differ very much from some of you here. Well, I am casual anyway, I dont have general WoW attitude about people.

people deal with their mates differently and sethy I'm sure that's because people know who you are on your server but the fact of the matter is that if you're new and do something silly people will humiliate you for it and no offence but it's the social side of MMORPGs that draws the VAST majority of players to them, if you're playing it and everyone takes the **** of you I can beat you wouldn't enjoy playing it as much. I will admit that my comment about quiting the game is a bit of an extreme response but I've seen plenty of people do it for stupider reasons than being ridiculed by others

Yeah you are probably right, I know I am pretty antisocial and I never cared about "going with the flock" mentality. The only reason to quit the game for me would be if I got bored or if the game got unplayable... I quit AO because the new expansion made it totally unplayable for my graphic card.

But what actually pissed me off is the fact that someone is making fun of someone else in public forum like this - I find unacceptable when people think they are something better than others based on they way they play some crappy game.
One may be better player (which may mean absolutely nothing) but how do you know that other person actually gives a damn about how they play? They might just enjoy the scenery for all we know and be happy about it.

The whole OP looks like "I do not like my coworker for whatever reason but I dont have balls to show it to him personally so I will get back to him the other way".
Apologies if I am wrong.

After being beaten by another coworker 7 times in duels, he uses the excuse "I didn't have time to put on my talent points."
I said "Dude, it takes 3 seconds!"
"Yeah, but I didnt have a trainer nearby..."

This is after we explained the process 5-6 times.

co workers shouldnt let co workers play stupid.

meaning go to his house have him log on get him wasted when he passes out kick the chair out from under him and use his tallents for him.

i'd hate to lvl any toon with no tallent points. it must take him awhile to lvl.

does anyone in any of his groups ever notices his lack of dps? or no build?

Sethy, what he doesn't know can't hurt him. Unless he's an avid reader of these boards (and judging by this thread, he's not), he'd probably never notice that we were "making fun of him."

Why did I encase that last part in quotation marks? Well, for starters, we're not as much making fun of him as we are baffled, I believe. I mean, kudos to the guy for doing 42 levels without any talent points assigned - it takes dedication. I'm not laughing at him in that sense, I'm laughing at the situation.

For example, have you heard about the Warrior who did 1-70 naked and with no weapons except for his fists? Yeah, it's true, he just hit 70 a while back. I was laughing when I read that as well. Not because I think the guy's an idiot not to equip weapons and armor, but because it's so out of the ordinary. It's the same with this guy, except instead of being naked, he's got zero talents.

Know what I mean?

You speak of Gutrot the Troll, yes? He did it to prove it could be done, not because he didn't know how to equip anything. The OP's buddy didn't seem to know how to use talents (I hope you educated him, nicely of course, in the usage of talents)...

People new to MMOs sometimes are very confused with training and talents and other types of upgrade systems. Hopefully you can explain to him how to use talents and that it will only help him have more fun in the game.
