Did I see this right?

First of all, this is not an OMGNERFTEHLOX post. I bow to the skill of this player as well as the time and effort he must have spent developing his toon. Definately the first/most uber player I've been pwnd by at 70.

I primarily play a 70 Warrior and 70 Pally... Last night in EotS I ran into a Lock/Priest combo (Demonology and Shadow spec respectively, I am assuming) that effectively took on about half of our team at the HT. Basically they sat there in the tower spanking us in wave after wave. Not killing so much as keeping us busy trying to defend the tower while the rest of their team 3-capped and held.

What really impressed me was the level of conrtol. They werent slaughtering us... just keeping themselves up, fear spamming, and keeping me (and I assume the rest of our pally-heavy team) OOM. By the time I realized our efforts to defend that tower were basically futile, the game was already out of hand, so I just did what I could to get credit for a few HK (thanks in large part to their efforts I was limited to a pathetic 3 despite only dying twice the entire game).

After several minutes of slamming my head into the wall these two clothies had up, I took a peek at my enemy health bar... this Lock had 22K HP!! Granted, my gear on both toons is lacking, but even fully buffed, my Warrior and Pally dont have that COMBINED.

Unfortulately I didnt think to remember his/her name.
I checked a few high-ladder arena locks in my Battle Group this morning to see how representative that is. Most of the Demo Locks were in the range of 11-13K. Fully buffed with good enchants and gems, I could maybe see that being pushed up into the 18k range. But 22k??!? I'm starting to think the enemy health bar on my UI might have bugged out. Is that even possible?

Stuff like Mobhealth isn't perfect, or anywhere near it, it simply works on what percentage you reduce a foe's HP by with X damage. For example, if you try it out on Harbinger Skyriss, his clones skew it wildly.

It seems to be happening a lot with locks, probably because of their constantly getting small amounts of life back.

Thanks for the response. That makes sense.

Also, If he was Demo, 15% of the damage is shared by his pet. Since all the damage his pet takes is recorded as damage taken by him to the addons, take 15% off of that 22k and he's at 18.7k. Probably wasn't adding in the life he receive from Siphon Life if he had it, or Drain Life, and that can account for a lot more health.

That's even more, with Soul Link your minion takes 20% of the damage you take.

ya, was gonna say... where'd you get that 15% from? o.0

Right, and 20% of the 22k sticks him right around the 17k mark. If you take a look at Alea on Tichondrius, (s)he rocks around 12.5k HP, unbuffed, as affliction. Add in PW:F, BoK, and the lock talents... you've got yourself one tough little clothie.

In other news, I was doing EotS this weekend also (who wasn't) and ran into a warrior/pally combo. They were in full merciless, but me and my friends in our organized group didn't notice until we tried to rush them with 4 of us. We got manhandled. The 2nd time I feared the pally, CoT'd him, Spell locked, feared, then Death Coiled and we STILL barely got the warrior down (pally bubbled and was like 1/2 way through flash of light). People in full PvP gear are just sick.

in the end, remember that mods to tell people's HPs are usually off unless you can dot them to death (one of the only ways to get accurate data), the guy probably had like 12-14k hp including PW:F from the priest

I have no idea where I got 15% from, for some reason I thought Soul Link was only 15%, guess I underestimated it. Sorry for the mis-information.
