Solo Build SuggestionsFollow

#1 Sep 25 2007 at 8:28 AM Rating: Decent
Hi all,

I have a shiny new Rogue and have read many of the posts about builds listed; however; I must say I'm thoroughly confused. I must confess I'm not very good at the job so far, but hope to get better with practice.

My question is, what would be the best build for soloing? I do plan to do some PvP later on (high 20's ish) but will mainly be focusing going it alone. "Stranger Danger" and all that lol. Any suggestions or advice will be appreciated, and if you could link your Armories that would be awesome! Pictures are so much easier to follow than words ^^

Lastly, daggers? swords? one of each?

Thanks so much!

P.S. I'm a girl so be nice and try not to make me cry :D

going on the armory of a bunch of level 70s isn't going to help you level up. it'll let you know what to shoot for, but you should be taking 2/2 sinister strike, then 5/5 malice, and then going down the combat tree imo. the early stuff in assassination is very good but i don't think it is as important as combat--combat is the easiest to level.

until you pick a weapon spec it doesn't matter what weapons you choose: unless you are going backstab, in which case you better be mh'ing a dagger lol. otherwise, general rule is slow mainhand and fast offhand--this is because generally slower weapons have a higher damage range than fast ones. this means all rogue instant attacks should be doing more damage. i'd level up with a nice slow sword in my mh, and a nice fast stat boosting weapon in my off....

The stickies have some suggestions. I can say that I leveled 1-68 daggers (I didn't read these forums till then) and can offer this advice.

DO NOT LEVEL WITH DAGGERS.

Here is the link for the build on the stickies:

Read the stickies tho, they rock for teaching you how not to suck.

Please don't demean your entire sex by claiming that you'll cry if people flame you. It's a pointless thing to say and even as a guy I find it offensive.

That said, I highly suggest you uses two axes when leveling. They're not popular, but with the up coming nerf to all weapons rogues currently use (just for rogues, warriors actually get a buff when using weapons against rogues...or will soon), axes will reign supreme as soon as tonights patch is out.

Be sure to keep a two handed mace in your backpack as well as a wand for "shootin' stuff at a distance." Don't waste your time with bows, guns or thrown weapons. Those are for pansies. Wands FTW!

Lastly, put all your points into subtlety. You might read a lot of flack about it in this forum but it's really the best tree for you. Everyone in this forum secretly knows it's the best tree, they just try to dissuade people from using it so they have less competition.

Aw sheesh. I really wasn't trying to be clever or scathing, just mildly amusing and the slightest bit mean.

I mean, come on- she's ready to cry if people flame her on an Internet forum. What would she do if I told her that she should have been aborted; that I think I see a hanger scar on her forehead from a failed attempt at righting God's wrongs; or that she should try drinking bleach while she plays?

I dunno...Eon...I gotta say...I almost broke down in tears singing Emo when I read what you wrote :*(

Edit: oh yeah- I meant to add- in no way was I trying to imitate anyone on this forum. I just thought it was amusing stuff to say.

Knife you seem to understand the idea of exaggeration when you use it, but when other people do you get lost. I highly doubt she honestly meant we would make her cry.
