People take imp gouge because it's a better filler then Lightning Reflex, but it's pretty much useless in raiding. It's a pvp talent.

Personally, I would be looking at my spec in a much broader way than just the imp gouge. Your sub daggers spec for raiding makes me a little leery of how you're going to do.

Subtlety is awful for raiding. Worst possible tree to spec in for DPS.

As for why Gouge is taken, it's because the people you're looking at plan to PvP as well, and Lightning Reflexes is worthless. It will never, ever be used in endgame.

Just to elaborate, the extended time frame with imp gouge is just that little bit you need to restealth in a pvp situation.

Also Gouge is better for soloing like farming/daily quests, sad but raids don't take 100% of game time

Yep, if you're going to kill anything solo with a combat daggers build, you're going to want to gouge/bs.

i also discovered a stupid little tactic for when i was grinding to 70 so very long ago involving gouge--blow all your energy on him, then apply crippling poison, gouge him and back away, then your energy will be all back by the time he reaches you. burn him down in a fiery grave.

Your question has been dutifully answered.

Next time, please use some punctuation. I'm not going to horribly flame or drag this out, but please, for your next post, capitalize, use commas and please use appropriate end-sentence punctuation (a period, exclamation mark or question mark).

It makes your posts much easier to read.

Blind-Bandage. Gouging to get 2 ticks of a bandage in is a waste.
