Gold FarmingFollow

I am wondering where are some of the best spots for farming that would give me the most gold per hour. I am a level 70 rogue, and my trade skills are skinning and enchanting. I am trying to save up for my epic flier, and need to know some good farming spots where I could make alot of gold as quick as possible.

Thanks for any good replies :)

A good way for rogues, and especially enchanting rogues, to get money is to do stealth chest runs. The Mechanar is the most popular place for that, though there are others. Nostraa has a thread going that was on the first or second page regarding this, so check it out. Daily quests can get you 100g a day or so, don't forget to do them. On my server, I don't know about yours, the during the evening Forge Camp: Wrath is crowded with people who can't skin killing those dog demons for 'Banish More Demons.' I've gotten quite a bit of leather by just skinning other people's kills. It's worth checking out while you're up there.

There you go:

Mecha chest runs are pretty good. The best I can do with my pvp build is around 15 min or so to get the 5 chests per hour (you can't do more cause you can't enter more than 5 times per hour in an instance). When I'm unlucky, it can be as much as twice as long. But it's usally pretty easy so I wouldn't recommend respeccing for these runs.

Afther 5 runs, you can't enter another instance during this hour so be sure that you're not expected in a Kara raid or you'll feel dumb. You can however do your daily quests which will take you 45+ min and then you're up for another 5 mecha chest runs.

If you have to do only one of the two, know that:
- chest runs yield in my eyes an overall better return (from each chest: about 6 gold + at least 1 green item, sometimes a blue item instead, and sometimes a green/blue gem in addition; the best I got was 1 green item and 2 blue gems from a single chest... multiply by 5 rurns and this is a lot of good stuff you're getting in a mere 15-20 min average);
- daily quests yield more immediate gold but no items/gems, but they give reput.

As you're an enchanter, you'll be very happy with the chest runs since you can desenchant all those nice green/blue items (all of them lvl 70, yummy).

Isn't Mech farming getting nerfed today with the patch?

I know I've read it in a few of the posts, but I don't see anything about it in the patch notes. Anyone know for sure?

LOL..unless he's on your same server, he's not ruining anything for you.

What's messed up, is last night I was doing as much farming as possible in anticipation of the nerf, and there were no less than 10 - 15 naked rogues flying around Mech racing to the entrance. Guess I better hold on to the seven blue gems and the blue BoEs (Bringer of Death,Crystal Forged War Axe) I got until the market settles down.

rofl ya wait for that market to cool down a bit. off to find a new way to rake in the cashhhh money!

Yup, best advice is to find a decent farming spot and kill, kill, kill. Legion Hold in Shadowmoon Valley is good, so are any of the lvl 72 mobs in Blade's Edge. If you get bored doing that pickpocket and chest farm your way thru ManaTombs. 2 chests and 2 mines(if you're miner, might be some herbs too, don't remember right off) each run, if you pickpocket everything in the instance it takes about 15-20min. This does take a bit of skill but not too much as you'll have to clear the mobs around the chests to loot them. Also great way to lvl up lockpicking if you've been lazy as you'll get about 10-15 locked junkboxes per run.

Good advice, but you can actually increase your income more if you don't "just kill stuff." It should really go without saying, but kill stuff that drops items that will sell well to vendors or other players, or things that you can use yourself.

For example, if you have skinning, farm stuff that you can skin. If you have herbalism, farm bog lords in Zangarmarsh. If you don't have a gathering skill, farm Scryer rep items in SMV.

You get the idea. It's not just "killing stuff" that will make you money, but killing the right stuff.
