I decided to drop mining and pick up herb to make raid consumables less of a chore. Not that it is a pain, 1 round of dailies covers the cost for 2-3 nights of raiding.

So I am running around Azshara getting close to 300 herb when I come upon a 53 Undead Mage. I'm in my healing gear but I decide to gank. What follows is perhaps the most epic chase I ever had in my 2+ years of wow play.

Simply put he kited the hell out of me. Sheep run away, I'd catch up, sheep run away. I pulled out my pvp trinket and kept it up. He'd drink and eat and it would continue. We ran from one end of the zone to the other and after 20 minutes I had him to 10% mana and under 20% health. I threw my hammer and MISSED. He jumped off a cliff into the water and used his blink to gain the advantage. I almost got him down again but I lost him.

Smiley: blush

So embarrassing!

I really should have quit, but as embarrassing as it was I was kind of enjoying myself.

I was really feeling the sheep, since he would sheep me and run and I would chase I guess enough time for diminishing returns weren't a factor. The good news is that I got 300 herb and I am now in outlands!

Glad to hear. It sounds like an epic battle. And even more fun for me since I can imagine being on both sides. Smiley: grin

Gah! does that @#$%ing hammer ever hit anything? I swear to god it must have about a 75% miss rate.

Most epic battle I've ever had (not much of one I'm afraid) Involved my Prot warrior and meddling Pally in Terokkar. Spent a good 5-6 minutes bonking each other. Stunning. Bandaging. Bubbling. Healing. Putting out pathetic DPS on plate. It was a good, fair fight (for once) and I wouldnt have minded losing in the least had it not been for a 70 hunter flying into the area and putting me down.

Got to sit back and watch such a fight in 2v2 Arena the other night. Pally and Warlock's pet downed me at almost the exact moment my Warrior teammate killed the Lock. What followed was a good 5 minute near standoff. Like keystone cops... running all over the arena pinging away at each other... healing back to full to start all over. Finally, my warrior friend (who I think probably had the pally outgeared) was able to wear him down and get an Execute off between bubble and HoJ cooldowns.

I got a Terokkar story for ya. I was trying out AoE grinding in Skettis, soon finding out that that's a horrible place to do it (way too many spellcasters). I was in my tanking gear and I alt-tabbed out to check something. When I came back I noticed I was dead and a hunter named Constantine ganked me. So I shrugged it off, rezzed and went back to killing. About 15 minutes later, im at about half health when here comes Constantine again, only this time I was paying attention. I've been trying out different strategies on hunters, so I tried this one.

I judged wisdom on his pet, pulled up SoL and started just beating on the pet while keeping up the HS. The Hunter (Marksman) was practically doing nothing to me and so was his pet. This went on for a couple minutes, they almost killed me, but I managed to have enough mana for a bubble + heal, and a quick Arcane Explosion later gave me enough for another heal. After a while the Hunter went oom and I went after him with SoL up. Poor guy couldnt bring me down below 3.5k health (When my Ardent Defender kicked in). He tried to melee fight me, that didnt work. He eventually got me in a trap which I thought I was going to avoid, apparently not, and went far away and mounted up. I laughed at him as he flew away.

Haha, I remember when I was level 50-something, I was having the same sort of epic battle with a level 40-something mage. He kited me all the way from Blasted Lands and into the Swamp of Sorrows. Finally I got him down to 20%, fired off my hammer, and DOH! He doesn't die. But what's this? I've exited combat. So what do I do? Crank up my Linken's Boomerang and he drops. Funniest thing that's ever happened to me.
