cooking-That +Sta food for petsFollow

#1 Sep 20 2007 at 10:56 AM Rating: Decent
My main is maxed in cooking, so in preperation for lvling my hunter I cooked a ton of that food (name escapes me ATM). Doesn't cost me anything and your pet gets +20sta. It's lvl 55 and now that my pets are high enough for it I go to bank and grab a stack, and have found that when trying on 4 different pets so far I get the "your pet doesn't like this food" WTF? Worthless. I assume since it's called sporling something or other that only pets that eat fungus? eat it, who uses those pets? Or maybe I eat it and it buffs the pet, didn't try that LOL. This is one of the dumbest things wow has implemented, since it's something that you can cook and provides a buff for the pet, it should be liked by all pets.

That’s exactly how it works. You eat it and your pet gets the buff. So it doesn’t mater if your pet eats fungus or not.

Sweetpea, my level 68 pink tallstrider, takes exception to that. And don’t say that too loudly around bats or turtles either.

It gets under my skin a bit when people can't figure out how something works so they blame Blizzard.

You're no doubt talking about Sporeling Snacks. +20 Sta and I think +30 Spirit to your pet. You don't use Feed Pet, you click on it like you were using a potion. It's instant use, 30 minute duration and doesn't affect your pet happiness at all (or interfere with using Feed Pet).

It's not "one of the dumbest things wow has implemented". If anything, Blizzard would make me happy if they implemented more pet foods to buff things like Stamina and Armor. The dumbest things in WoW are sitting behind the monitors of too many of its players.
#4REDACTED, Posted: Sep 20 2007 at 11:15 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Always some arrogant @sshole on these forums. Excuse me for thinking since it was a food that you feed it to your pet. AS far as the stupid comment, it was in regards to just that, that it's a food and the pet should be able to eat it in the same manner, as I agree with you that there should be more types of foods you can cook for your pet to get differnt attributes. People like you should go back to RS. You're so l33t, I'm sure you have every single aspect of WOW down to a T, awesome.

With a quick use of the search function, you would have found Sporeling Snack. The comments under which specifically say that the food is eaten by the player to buff the pet, not fed directly to the pet.
#7REDACTED, Posted: Sep 20 2007 at 12:47 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) If the senior posters are jerks, then yes. If everyone is going to "vote" me out just cause someone is "senior" and not on criteria that is "right" IE just cause your senior doesn't mean you have to be a jerk, then this forum is really flawed and would seem pretty useless.

So I should of searched first, my bad. Still don't give "senior" people the right to be jerks. It just never occured to me that a food that you cook and gives your PET a sta bonus would not be eaten by the pet, kind of dumb that that isn't how it's done.

It's not that you didn't know, it's that you couldn't figure it out, therefore Blizzard was somehow at fault. If you go through the quest descriptions, tons upon tons of comments under the description include things like, "I tried such and such and it didn't work...this $#@^% quest is bugged. GG Bliz." ...and in actual fact the quest is fine, just the person trying to do it was doing it wrong.

That's what bothers me...the attitude that, "I can't figure it out on my own, therefore someone else must have done something wrong." When I first tried to use Sporeling Snacks, I did the same thing you did. Considering that I was trying to feed to to a boar, and boars eat anything, I knew there had to be something amiss. Would it have been advisable for me to come here and blame Blizz for creating a pet food that apparently no pet in the game could eat because boars can eat anything and my boar can't eat it? No, I figured it out through a few seconds of experimentation. Another alternative would have been to come here and ask how to use it, without taking a shot at Blizzard for your inability to figure it out.
#9REDACTED, Posted: Sep 20 2007 at 1:57 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I didn't try it on a boar, didn't have one. It is a food that gives a pet sta, and it was called sporeling, so any reasonable person would think it should either be eaten by a pet, and/or only pets that eat fungus would eat it. It's not like that thinking is way out in left field or something, certainly not enough out there to warrant this so whatever.

Wait, hang on. This is starting to get ridiculous. How many retards are going to be calling us "Seniors" (that gave me a solid rl chuckle) out because they get criticized for making a stupid post? Are these guys breeding? Are they somehow managing to find people of the opposite sex and actually get some? I refuse to believe this, and thus this post has ceased to exist.

(Or been Sub-Defaulted...)

I just don't get how many people are getting all butthurt about this stuff? I knew the Thottbot merger would ruin Allakhazam. All the retards that come from there, have now heard of our turfs.

1. I used "senior" because xordon guru used it in his post first, that's why I always used perenthesis (sp?).
2. I had only heard of thottbot from players in WOW, never joined and didn't "come over from there" from any merger.
3.

lmao, and to finish my last post on this lame sight, due to the owners allowing such rediculous morons to over run it (and allow them to shut down any one that calls them on their idiocy/rudeness) this is exactly why you guys are jaded, egotistical, rude idiotic morons...playing internet einsteins (much like internet tough guys, you are probably stupid or bullies IRL)it all boils down to that....you think it's your turf, sad and pathetic. Play in your sandbox amongst yourselves, because eventually that's all that will be left.

Listen lad. You got pissed when you were called on your own lazyness, and **** poor attitude. You immediately lashed out against someone who not only gave you an answer to your problem, but also gave you a fairly good hint how these forums work. Namely:

1. Try to find out for yourself first.
How? Search box to your left. Tons of information down the sidebar. One of those: Professions. One of those: Cooking. Within Cooking: Sporeling Snacks! Easy, huh?
2. If you can't find out through searching, check the stickies in the relevant forums. Since this is a Hunter forum, not a cooking one, it is not relevant as such.
3. You have done all the above? Good! Make a post, stating your actions, and questions. Or merely an informational statement, if you feel like it. If you immediately assume you are right, and Blizzard/Allakhazam/Sticky/you bloody name it, is wrong, you show an attitude that isn't appropriate on any forum. Why? Because the chances of an entire database of gathered data and information being less accurate than your own perceptions and opinions... well, it is about the same as the chances of me waking up tomorrow with Willow, Jack Sparrow, Milla Jovovich and Vin Diesel after very exhausting orgy.

Xordon, who is a very decent fellow and a carebear to boot, took pity on you. He even linked you to a thread which showed what happened to people who can't take completely normal criticism. And you make fun of him? He was doing you a favor you ridiculous cumrag.

If you wish to be a poster here, drop the attitude. It will gain you nothing, until you have proven to be someone worthy of listening to. If you do nothing but spout venom as soon as someone directs some criticism at you, you don't even belong in society. Seriously, grow a thicker skin. It's amazing you aren't see-through.

Also, you realise that non of this downrating would have happened if you hadn't gotten all pissy in your second post. Your question was answered, In fairly good detail by two posters. AureliusSir simply made a fairly tame statement about not blaming blizzard, and for some reason you took that as a personal insult and started attacking him and calling him an arrogant l33t jerk, when in fact he is none of the above. Your rating had stayed at decent up to that point, so clearly no one actually found major fault with the initial post. Like north said, grow a freaking skin.

I think you were just looking for a fight here, and fabricating trouble where none existed. Feel free to wander over to wowhead, but they don't really have a forum, also their posts get downrated faster then a squirrel on speed. Only the best posts stay as it is a pure information site.

The whole thing about the OP blaming Blizzard for his own failure....totally the fault of American society. The last few generations have been raised so privileged that the mere notion of them doing anything wrong can never occur to them, and when their own ineptitude shines through their puny brains can only surmise that it is the fault of some other person or thing.

You see this every time some ****** who hurts themself sues the business they got hurt at (when it is their fault). Just the other day a woman in my store was pouring herself a cup of coffee, when she spilled it all over herself because she wasn't paying attention. And she immediately turned it onto us, the clerks, as though it were our fault. THEN she wanted the coffee for free. No f---ing way, LOL.

So yea, I was a little peeved too by the OP's comments, but not so much to start tearing into him the way others have. He or she is just a product of our society. Can't blame them.......

Or can you?

That would be Willow from Buffy, yes. Those are the foursome of hawtness, and should provide some fairly pleasant mental imagery no matter which genitals you are sporting.

AureliusSir was a jerk in his first post in this thread, and most of the "Senior" posters that are backing up AurelisSir are being jerks as well. If you don't see the problem with his ENTIRELY unnecessary comment "The dumbest things in WoW are sitting behind the monitors of too many of its players." then you are willfully being a jerk. Besides, his entire post had a very snarky attitude, even if any other individual sentence was not all that bad in and of itself.

Having 3k+ posts doesn't make you better than anyone. Indeed, if anything it makes you both more knowledgeable and more responsible for what you say. I personally have over 3k posts on a number of boards on the internet, and when I see someone with only 37 posts on those boards I go out of my way to be helpful and friendly. That way the new people keep coming back, making the board stronger and more interesting, adding to the discussions, rather than leaving and making the board weak and boring.

If you have 3k posts and your immediate reaction to a simple question is to be a jerk then you have the problem, not the person asking the question, no matter how stupid the question may be to you. Especially since you don't HAVE to respond. If you are going to answer a question and be a jerk about it, or even just a bit snotty, then don't bother answering at all (and yes, this applies to the OP's response as well).

And I explained why the tone of my post was less than hunky-dory.

I didn't even accuse the OP of being lazy. I told him it gets under my skin when someone can't figure something out and one of the first things they do is jump to the conclusion that someone else has done something wrong.

"I wouldn't have driven into the power pole if some ******** hadn't put it there."

Get the point? The OP's question would have been fine on its own, he had to throw in the "dumbest things wow has implemented" comment, when it's really not. It was ok for the OP to comment about Blizzard's 'dumb' ideas but he damn near had to run home and tell mommy about the mean, mean Alla poster when it got thrown back at him.

Funny, you'll (almost) never see one of us "arrogant" "senior" posters mentioning post count as a reason to justify/excuse pretty much anything. It's you thin-skinned lil monkeys that are reaching for a reason to cut us down for our opinions and approaches that always seem to bring it up.

Kinda like the guy in the 2008 BMW that gets a bit distracted and nudges your back bumper on the way home from work. It's not enough that it's just a guy in a car that tapped your car, it turns into, "omfg you think because you can afford a friggin' $80,000 car that you can just drive around not paying attention? You rich ***** **** me off! You should all go die in a ******* fire!"

Do ya think that maybe, just maybe, after this whole debacle, if the OP ever posts here again he'll think twice before jumping to the conclusion that Blizzard screwed something up because he can't figure out it? If so, my purpose and method for my initial response acheived the desired results.
