I have a good friend that is a BM hunter, and we sorta have a rivalry where we duel during the week and on weekends at around 6 am we go to guru arena and settle fight to the death for the chest as 9/10 no one else is there :P

im usually on the losing end of this... any way i can come back and pwnt her?

do whatever you can do to keep him in melee range, in melee a hunter will lose to any and everything.

ugh, don't get me started. I lost so horribly against a guy one level below me, I haven't duelled again. I did make some mistakes. I'm told purge can get rid of bestial wrath. is this true? Seems like you'd lose a lot of time removing it from both the pet and the hunter though.

The biggest obstacle is stuns. I was stunned twice in that fight for like 5 seconds. How can I overcome this? one was intimidation, I know this from my hunter. I'm not sure what the second stun was. scatter shot maybe?

Nope, Purge doesn't work.

Actually trying to stay in melee range against a BM hunter doesn't work that great either since a enraged pet means enraged hunter also.

"Best" (and I use that term lightly) tactic I've found against a BM Hunter, is to treat the beastial wrath kinda like a pally treats their bubble, so to speak. When PvPing a Pally, one usually trys to force them to use the bubble, cuz once thats on CD, their kinda sitting ducks (especially against a Shaman). BM hunters tend to blow their wad early (at least from my experience), hoping to try and end the fight fast, but once that wrath is gone...that kinda puts a kink in their game plan. We already know that CC's don't work against enraged BM pets or themselves, so thats a moot point...even more moot to use since we have no CC's anyhow :p So as a Shaman, I tend to try and "Outlast" the wrath phase by just standing their, "take it" and just heal thru it. Once its over, let the beating BEGIN, because their major source of burst dmg won't be up for awhile!

Its not full proof, but I've had a "ok" success rate in Arena's and Duels doing this, and this is as a Enh/Resto spec.

I hope you heal well then, just taking the damage means healing through 20-25k damage in 18 seconds, if i use rapid fire and a trinket i guess it can reach up to 30-40k...

i assume that its well doable to heal through that but it costs a lot of mana.
If you can run towards a hunter and keep him/her in melee you knock off 50% or more of that damage (even with Bestial Wrath, a BM hunters pet does only 40-50% of the total damage) force the hunter to keep running from you and he wont do to much damage as well as being forced to use a lot more tricks.

After BW, do whatever you can do to keep close, frost shocks/totems anything you can think of because a hunter on the run (especially a BM hunter) isnt nearly as dangerous as when he/she is left standing to shoot.

Woah i got a 68 hunter and i just dont c you dishing out taht much damage in 18 seconds. At the most ud have to hit for aproximately 1389 dmg per hit and i c u criting for that much or more but no way every hit and then u gotta add in ur bow speed not to b a downer i just dont c it and havent experienced it yet with my hunter

but ur a 68... most 68 hunters dont have good gear. when u get to 70 and get just a few epics, it's not too difficult to put out that kinda dmg sitting still.

so ur tellin me that at 70 and a few epics u can hit for over 1000 per hit not crits

Hunters aren't hard to do, even BM with BW on. Just stay close and fireshock until the BW is over. Then frostshock and cane. Even scatter shot won't stop the shammy from winning, have done many hunters like that. BW not equal unkillable.
