Holy Raiding Requirement HelpFollow

#1 Sep 18 2007 at 8:28 PM Rating: Decent
Hey all,

So my guild's moving right along and starting our journey into SSC and the Eye.

With that we've decided it's well past time to institute some more stringent requirements for entrance into certain raids and me, as the Paladin Class Lead, need to come up with some basic entrance criteria.

This is where some of you more experienced raiders come in.. or at least some of you who have set up entrance req's before.

I'm basically thinking of setting bars on Mana pool, +heal, and crit%.

Any help you could give me would be great.

The requirements I'm looking for help on would be to get into Gruul's, Mag's, SSC and the Eye. What have you set as minimum requirements in your guilds?

Thanks for your help in advance.

When we were in the same area as you, it was 1500 healing, 85-90 mp5 while casting 20% crit. Those numbers really aren't hard to hit and I was already well beyond it when we decided on it, but someone with those numbers can easily fit into your raid. I don't look at mana pool because if you have the gear to hit those numbers, you have the mana pool. No greens allowed!

Oh and dude for the love of what's holy, get a better neck piece! At least get the badge one like me :(

Haha.. yea I hear you about this neckpiece. At the moment I don't have a lot of time to do anything more than farm for raids and raid. My work is seriously cutting into my playtime!

As soon as I get more time I'll get in to some heroics and get a better neckpiece.

/hide in embarrassment :)

I'm afraid I can't really comment on this, but I'd say the above suggetion sounds reasonable.

This is about what my paladin is on at the moment, my guild has just cleared Kara (yay for nightbane down yesterday). I still have quite a bit of room for improvement (Neck, back, chest, mace, rings and trinkets could all use an upgrade and my current blue mace isn't enchanted), so those figures sound reasonable for someone whose been through Kara and Gruul's (our guild is hopefully starting there soon).

Plus it's nice for me to see my gear's at a reasonable level.

Well as I said its minimum =p When I was progressing in SSC/Eye (it was pre-Vash kill I think) I already had over 1650 healing, 21-22% crit, and 110 mp5 while casting unbuffed. I figured you could do the job OK with numbers less than what I had at that point, so that's how I came up with the numbers.

As long as the paladins are in t4 equivalent gear with the proper enchants and gems they're fine.

1500 healing, 20-22% crit, 90-100mp5 unbuffed with 8kish health and 9.5kish mana.

1500 is a baseline for everything starting with and then beyond gruul imo, and it's very easy to get via heroics and a few kara runs. However for crit, if they cant reach 20%+, than ~15% is fine, but in return they should push that 175+ mana regen mark.

I know quite a few paladins farming The Eye that don't hit 20% crit, and only hover around 18-19%, but they make up for it with 1800+ healing and 175-210 regen. I feel if you have the 175 regen and 1500+ healing, then its ok to be 15% or even a little lower on crit. Practice helps, stats don't make you the best player, skill > stats blahblahblah... hit the 1500 healing benchmark MINIMUM for gruul, work on regen, your pallies are fine. Pot up and eat Fishsticks.
