Whirlwind Enchant?Follow

#1 Sep 18 2007 at 9:32 AM Rating: Decent
I figure this will be one of those opinion type things with no one answer.

If gold is not an issue, what is the "best" enchant to drop on the Whirlwind?

Depends on if yer Tank/DPS? Just curious and hadn't seen this thread before. Point me in the right way if'n I missed it in my quick at work search.

Please explain in detail. I just had a +5 damage put on my Whirlwind Axe. I am almost level 39 and hope to keep this weapon for a while.

If you're just leveling, don't waste your time trying to get the best enchant, it will be wasted gold. You will replace it too soon to be bothered with spending anything more than 5g on an enchant for it.

But now if you are making a lvl 39 twink, that's a different story. Which I couldn't give a reasonable enough answer to say which is the best enchant for it. But RPzip is pretty insightfull, so listening to him is often a good thing.

Crusader procs fairly often, it gives +200 AP and ~125 HP healed each time it does. There's really not a lot of question about it... Crusader is amazing.

The problem is that they delevel Crusader post-60, so at level 70 it's doing less than it did at 60. =(

Wow, that looks expensive! That mats alone price me out, especially since I don't have a mount yet...

the only thing about deleveling is that once you start getting haste gear, crusader actually becomes viable. the PPM increases with haste gear/procs on a few enchants, and crusader is one of them. Mongoose however, stays the same PPM regardless. So even at 70, once you're geared up to your teeth crusader can do quite well.

fiery is good. cheap(er) and straightforward. you hit, it procs and hits for 40 more damage, and it does so nearly every 1-3 hits. it can crit too.

crusader at that level may be better, but as someone pointed out, uber expensive.
