Feral Rejuv wtf ???Follow

#1 Sep 18 2007 at 7:02 AM Rating: Decent

Ok so I had heard this from people before, but it wasn't until today when I saw it so blatantly abused.

I am talking about a feral druid being in bear form and throwing rejuvs on himself without any trace of a change of form, no sudden shapeshifting, no puff of smoke, nothing but the rejuv animation appearing on this bear who is absolutely alone.
Really quirky and annoying when you are trying to chase the bear down as a paladin >.<

So my question actually is, is this a simple matter of a macro for insta-change-rejuv-change (if such a thing can be done) and a difference in latency, or is it a bug exploit ?

Thanks.

I would say he was using the Frenzied Regeneration ability, only usable in bear form. It transforms rage into health at the rate of 10 rage for 250 health each second, for 10 seconds (and a total of 2,500 health). It creates a green glow around the bear. Typically used either with a full rage bar or in combination with enrage (lower armor but more rage generation for more health). Hitting the bear during that time might not be the best idea since all the rage generated by the damage taken will transformed in more health ;)

Oh I knew not of that possibility, which just goes to show I don't know ferals very well. I'll have to take it into account from now on.

But the guy using it was a lvl 39 druid, so he only had rank 1, the regeneration even as I hit him was not enough to save him from a good couple SoC'ed crits and such. The guy seemed to do very well in the BG despite losing 4 consecutive times against my paladin, guess you can't win'em all.

Heh, it *might* have been me - I had a palli do that to me while in bear several times today in WSG. Remember the char name and/or realm?

Oh, I don't think so, unless you play on Spanish EU servers (the druid was from Zul'jin I believe).

All I can suggest is Frenzied Regeneration - it looks like someone is hammering the Rejuv button and the animation/sounds go off a lot. Its saved me in some tight spots. (:.

I think the best thing about Frenzied Regeneration is that the ticks can crit. Thats just awesome.

Does +Heal gear effect 'Frenzied Regeneration' ?

Would be nice if it did but never can tell with Blizzard :)

At level 60 it was an ok ability. At level 70, with the levels of stam we have it is a bit underwhelming. Very slowly being healed for just over 10% of your health in a boss fight is only marginally useful.

I use it all the time because I usually have heaps of rage in boss fights, but I don't think it would have ever changed the outcome of the fight.

If it healed for double what it does now, or even if the amount stayed the same and you got it instantly (like a lay on hands type thing where it just uses up your whole rage bar) then it would be more useful.

Mind you, it still wouldn't be as useful as being able to use pots :(

No rare... Blizzard is not going to allow ferals to use pots and get weapon procs so dont even start =)

Honestly if they did I must admit feral would gain an enormous advantage over Boomkins (Aye... Kitties with mongoose /sigh)

Upcoming in 2.3 is that /cancelform will be recognized by implemented by the client, not the server. Im no expert but this could be a big thing.

Currently some druids have shapeshifting macros which go something like this (pseudocode mostly):

/cancelform
/use pot
/cast Dire Bear Form

Now this takes three key presses becuase there's the latency delay for the /cancelform to take effect which should be instantaneous.

With cancleform now being implemented by the client just as using a pot is the following should be possible.

/castsequence cancelform ; use pot ; cast Dire Bear Form.

OK, it costs a chunk of mana but finally shapeshifting should work as originally intended, i.e. instant cast with a 1.5 second global cooldown on entering a form other than caster.

Really? :O Where did you read this? I looked through the patch info that was posted on curse.com and I didn't see anything about that.

If it's true, that should really help me when dropping out of Moonkin to heal. One button press instead of two.. woohoo! (Technically two button presses instead of three if you count shifting back to Moonkin XD)

I do agree with everyone saying that it might have been Frenzied Regen, however, for druids at level 70, it is possible for an isntant regrowth with the t5 set bonus, though he would have to switch out of bear to do it.

What exactly affects Frenzied Regen?
- Mage's Amplify Magic?
- Feral talent Nurturing Instinct?
