Sometimes my sheeps break much earlier than they are supposed to.

Is arcane resistance the cause? Even if it was already sheeped, can arcane resistance or the higher level of the mob be the cause for breaking sheep earlier than 50 seconds? (PvE issue only)

And I am not talking about when Thunder Clap is in the picture or other aoe effects. When the sheep is so far off that nothing could have touched it, and i've checked the battle logs too. Am I really missing something or can indeed resistance be the cause of this?

thanks

It's called a "heartbeat resist". I want to say it relates to spell hit, but arcane resistances could play a factor. Gimme a sec to see what I can find.

You know, it's a subject I've never looked into and one I can't really find much literature on. I've always just known that it happens and resheep every few spells accordingly, but it's never been something I've worried about.

I am curious though if someone has done some parsing on mobs with a bit of +hit and also with a bit of Spell Penetration.

I have 148 bonus spell hit, which takes me to 94.73% spell hit.

By the way Poldaran, could you tell me please how much bonus damage you had when starting Kara? :p

+hit has definatly something to do with it, i theorize that every 2 sec the sheeped mob does a break roll (very DnD :P) and +hit is taken in account.

Speaking from experience as holy priest, had problems with shackles breaking early in Kara, collected some +hit (about +40 rating) and the breaks were noticibaly less.
I think Poly must work the same.

Havent got a clue if arcane resist has anything to do with it. I dont think i can even think of a mob with high arcane resist that is sheepable.

650ish, iirc. And about a 28-29% chance to crit with fire.

Although you didn't ask for it I had around 800 frost damage when starting kara (40/0/21 spec at the time).
