So many dumbasses use the word irregardless in common conversation, that it has become valid, used primarily in speech though.
That's just depressing. I have to agree with sloshot here. Sure, language is a living thing that evolves over time. Any cunning linguist has to admit this.... If they don't already have their mouth full.
But should we really let our (arguably) most common and expressive form of communication be directed and managed by jabbering idiots who can't even use the freakin' thing properly? Why should language accommodate them?
It's like someone not being able to figure out a simple toaster and, instead, they somehow make it fart hot lava onto them that smells like putrid fish. And, rather than being told that they fail at life, they're promoted to world-wide toaster creator and overseer. And, from then on, everyone else has to use their liquid magma farting monstrosity!
.... Ok, yeah, I went out on a tangent.
Sloshot, I follow your nuance, sir. Now I ought retire until the morrow.
(EDIT: North's almost at 3000 posts. Do we have a party lined up for that or anything? I hope more noobs post for a day or two. Then we can have the big three-oh-oh-oh be a super epic flame/rant/public hanging. I wouldst drinketh to that.)
