Just had a general question about specs. I want to go with a prot build something like the one from the FAQ 11/5/42

My question is when is the best time to put points into the different trees?
Should you go two or three tiers down into prot then start to go into fury or arms? Do you want to go as deep as your going to go in prot (42 from this build before going into arms/fury?? Or do you want to be even in the three, so something like 11/5/10, then just stick with prot the rest of the way?? Any suggestions would be great...

There is no 11/5/42 build in the FAQ right now. I should know, I just rewrote that section... but you linked one that looks good, heh.
You don't want to level as Protection unless you have an extremely dedicated group already set up, as the loss to soloing ability isn't at all worth it... but if you're committed, I'd put the first five points into Fury (Cruelty, and there aren't any instances until the mid-to-late Teens anyway), then put the points into Arms (5% Parry and Thunderclap are extremely good). After that, start climbing the Protection tree.
