1g and port to shat so they can set up HS so they dont have to ask someone next time. Instances and Guildies get free if I am not doing anything.

I don't do ports for anyone not in my guild. I actually downloaded Whisperblocker and added keywords "water food port". If that makes me a bad person, I'm sorry, but I really hate being whispered while I'm in the middle of doing something.

Soon after I logged in today, in Area 52, I got a whisper asking if I could please make a sh*tload of level 65 water for 15g. The requester was standing right in front of me. I wasn't in the midst of doing something out in the field, and it took about 30 sec to clarify that "a sh*tload" meant "4 or 5 stacks" conjure it, and make the trade. If only I could farm gold that quickly regularly.

15g for 4 or 5 stacks? The guy must have not realised that you can get better or equivalent for like 3-4g. Mmm good for you :)

When it comes to ports, I never offer, but if asked I will probably do it if im in the same area as you. If someone yells "LF Port to Shat,IF,SW, Exo 2g!" I will promptly invite them and claim my tip :) I dont usually charge but 1 or 2g for convience only.

Generally, I don't charge for ports. I'm nice like that, lol. If I'm in UC or any other city, and they are next to me and ask nicely for a port, I'll gladly to it for them. If it's no hassle for me, I don't charge, haha. Usually I get tipped though :>

In the last week I have finalized my Portal policy:

>>For guildies, friends and nice PUGs, always free.
>>For strangers that ask very nicely/seem very very nice people/seem nice, young and broke, free.
>>For people that ask with a "Please", 1 gold.
>>For people that dont bother to use the magic word "Please", 2 gold.
>>For rude people, no response.

Free, if the person is a jerk then it is really free for sure...because it wont happen. You can never tell when you might need someones' help so, mine are free when asked, it doesn't take anything from me, just a few silver I guess, big deal. If I am worried about money at 70 then I need to quit. Doing a nice thing for someone might help me out sometime. That's the way I see it anyway. Otherwise I like "The Tulips" answer. ^-^

I am working on my first Mage now, lvl 57 right now so I'm close to OL. I have never requested a price for my ports, and won't charge anything if someone asks nicely. On the other hand when I'm looking for a port, while on one of my other characters, what I typically do, and I have been commented on it a few times, is I will go and buy the Rune of Teleportation, then start looking for a Mage in the same city as myself. I always say basically the same thing, "Can I buy a port to <insert city here> please.". If they are kind enough to do it, then I will always open the trade window and put in a 2G tip, (yes to anywhere), and I will also put in then rune and hit trade. I find it makes the Mage happy, and if I was to ask again, they have never had a problem porting me again. I find it helps to keep Mages happy and at the same time, all it cost them was about 1 minute of their time and some mana to make 2G. And by the way I never charge friends, guildies, and party members.

LoL I can't wait to be able to port people anywhere. My warlock gets whispered all the time for summons to "xyz". It costs a shard plus you need 2 additional people... Porting is going to be a blessing.
