I've done Demo and Affl both dedicated for some time now, just wondering what kind of Pro-Destro builds there are out there, whether its BG's, Arena, Raiding or good ol' farming. (Lvl 70 builds only please, and none of those "What if" builds, as in "Im a lvl 43 Destro-lock right now, but when I hit 70...." you get the idea).
Feel free to explain the "Gimmick" of what makes it tick.

0/21/40 = amazing for raiding. sucks **** for pvp and is alright for solo pve. just sacrifise your sucubus and dps dps dps (remember to keep all your dots up too)
20/0/41 = good hybrid pvp/pve spec. works well in all situations except maybe arena
0/40/21 = high crit chance with bonus of low threat. but you'll be changing pets alot more likely (i know. technically a demo build but it's just demo support for destruction dps)

Drakedog like did the 5/5/45 spec, but that's really a bg spec.
Opps , I mean teh 7/7/47 spec (http://wowhead.com/?talent=IV0MZbxZxx0trhtAuVo), but that's more of BG build with Engineering.

I went destruction for instance runs because I hate using dots in instance runs because of the risk of breaking cc. As a destructo lock I can still contribute very good dps, and with improved health stones I can help out everyone in the party when they get in a jam.
Oddly enough, when soloing I rarely nuke. It just seems less efficient for my playstyle. I normally use ole blue (VW) to tank for me, and dot up the mobs and wand away. But again, when running instances I only dot on bosses and follow those up with shadow bolts or fire if I'm running with a fire mage. Good luck!

I have been thinking of a (21/0/40) destro build with Siphon life, for raids mainly, to cut down destruction mana troubles to nearly non-existent.
Don't know about the damage comparison to other destro builds tho.
I have two 70 locks on the PTR.
Messed around w/ builds (make a "premade" lock on the PTR and experiment).
Anyway, I found I could not make a destro build "work" in BGs. At least not the way I play. Funny, cuz for ages I was SM/ruin (before BC).
My rate of death was higher, my damage dealt was lower. I felt more frustrated - more vulnerable to rogues and warriors. I just didn't like destro for pvp.
Have seen others post that they feel destro is more a pve/raid build now. How high you go into destr for raiding is a good question. It used to be that Ruin/Sm was the "best" (for most) raid spec (for dps). I bet a hybrid build is still best for raiding - tho which one, I'm not sure.
