I have a pet wolf and I was wondering if he could use prowl and if so how do I get it? I have talked to the pet trainer in Stormwind and didn't see it, so I guessed he couldn't use it, but I want to be sure before I give him up for a panther.

According to petopia only cats can learn prowl.

Jarduce is correct, only cats can learn prowl. It's also a skill that you won't learn from the pet trainer but, rather, something that must be learned from various cat mobs around Azeroth.

Check out Petopia for the list of mobs that have this skill upon taming.
