I'm lvl 41 now and definatly want to lvl semi quickly, ie not have to relay on others to do quests extra. But at 41 being feral and not really enjoying tanking there are less and less groups that want me for instances. I was thinking about respecing resto. Going resto would obviously get me more instances since I would be able to main heal. However there would be massive solo grinding fallbacks. So my question is to other who have done both or whatever, should I stick with feral and just realize that I'll have to tank more or can I go resto and still be able to keep my solo lvling abilites.

I have both "healing" gear and tank/dps gear already so the buying new gear is not an issue.

For those who are on my server, Charade Thunderlord Voive of Violence member you can pm me there. And for those who aren't obviously post here.

Thanks so much

A druid in need

At your level, you can easily main heal any instance with a decent healing set. There is no need to spec resto to do so.

What do you enjoy doing more? Cause that is the answer right there. Sure resto may be slower soloing, but if you do not enjoy being Feral the soloing time will drag on aswell. You also mentioned not liking to tank. If you are leveling with Feral just for a quicker route to 70 and then respec I guess that's fine. But if you plan on staying Feral you might want to rethink.

I have leveled Feral 1-70 and let me tell you that there is quite a bit of tanking in your future. Yes you can do alot of other stuff and tearing things apart as a Feral kitty is always a blast. But with only a few classes that can tank you can bet that 50% or more of your parties will need a tank.

That was a bit drawn out, it just comes down to what you like doing more. I don't mind healing, but I LOVE punching stuff with my big bear paw. If your the other way around then maybe spec resto. No point in playing in a fashion you do not like, and burning yourself out in the process.

well thankyou both, i think i'm going to stay feral for the time being. And to the first post you are exactly correct you can main heal most instaces at least 41 so far. And again thankyou to the second poster for giving me the final little push to staying feral.

At level 52, I've been resto/bal since about 40 and it works really well for me. I prefer healing in instances, so that's what I usually do and I go cat form for soloing. I pretty much never use bear unless I'm in trouble or something. When it's mentioned in group, I simply explain that I'm specced and geared for DPS in cat or healing and that I'm not an effective tank. So far, it hasn't been a problem for me at all. On the rare occasions that I do encounter a group that wants me to tank, I just say no thanks and move on to the next one.
