What's up with this? Weren't combat daggers supposed to be the best raiding spec? The best rogue raiders on my server (on illidan) are all combat swords (they don't PvP at ALL, so going combat daggers wouldn't be a problem for them).

its not that its dying its probably that they have gotted sword drops and not daggers for all i know and for me personally i would go for swords right now jsut because of the positioning factor but who knows

spelling

no relying on those rare positioning moments

faster/more efficient energy use [you have to move away from a boss, 2 rogues have 40 energy - one dagger one sword, sword will do a LOT more damage in those moments]

better itemization

take your pick!

Honestly I think it all balances out. Where the sword rogues will spike high damage with their special abilities, a dagger rogue will put up alot more white damage. Generally I out DPS a swords rogue in a raid, but I've got pretty good gear, and the other rogues I've played with aren't geared that hot.

But that's just it, it doesn't balance out.

Top-guild Rogues are all running around with the exact same combat swords specs, due mainly to the reasons mentioned above.

(for the record, I'm daggers right now, but I'm only in Kara, where the itemization and lack of difficulty means it really doesn't matter what the hell kind of weapons I'm using.)

Not to mention that daggers are much easier to get in Kara.

I have ER and Malch sitting in the bank, if that tells you anything.

Yea, I'm not really happy about it either.

You'll get um... I have an ER, Malch, and a S1 shanker sitting in the bank (the latter 2 both have mongoose on them) for when I feel like ******** around with mute. That being said, we have 1 spite blade in the guild (the MT won the greed roll lol). Have also seen 1 talon drop (our first tide kill) and 1 hope ender drop from kazzak...

I've got the ER, Malch and TNB in my bank. Seen Malch 3 times, ER 5. The ER had been going to hunters for ***** and giggles, but now they all have them too.

0 Spiteblade drops. Got the S2 sword instead, ***** waiting on that crap to drop.

I don't play rogue, but all of the rogues in my guild are combat swords. Trying to position behind a mob in waves of mobs in hyjal is extremely difficult and frustrating.

I actually stopped playing for at least the first half of this semester due to a really grueling class schedule (I took a lot of lab courses which leave me with little time to play or make raids). We haven't done scheduled kara in a while, but many people still do it on off nights. If you really are interested in going talk to my brother CFRP (a level 70 pally) in game or Waldo (a good friend of mine and fellow raid leader) and they might be able to get you in for things like kara if spots are available. Often they are just doing random groups from the guild + friends on off nights... and I know we were running low on raiding rogues even before I left. I still have my account active, let me know if you need anything or want to start raiding more heavily. I can put in a good word for you, or technically just fecking recruit you since I'm still technically the rogue class leader hehe...

Well I got my Emerald Ripper tonight, so that's not too too bad.
Thanks for the offer, but overall I'm pretty happy with where I'm at right now, guildwise (although some drama tonight spiced things up a bit)
