While this is a written median, your choice in words does affect the way people read it and can project and imitate a tone. For instance, you can say:
When the question is simple, don't waste both your own time, and ours.
Or you could say something like:
With simple questions, save yourself some time and trouble, and do a simple search.
Both say basically the same thing, but I read the first one as a more aggresive sentence than the second.
As far as the rating, I hope your not accusing me of it, because I don't rate people, up or down, too much of a joke and waste of effort to worry about ratings, so I don't even bother with it.
