I was looking a my talents and decided to respec last night started going through the motions of putting points into stuff that i felt was needed. Now I have 6 points left and am not sure where to put them.

If I have said it once, I have said it a million times.
Any Prot build that doesn't put 5 points into 1h Weapon Specialization is broken. 5% increase to ALL damage. White and Yellow. As vital for PvE grinding as it is for tanking an instance.
As for exact specs perhaps one of our Prot Pallies could help you. Personally I would take something akin to this http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=sZVhtIx0dggqzVbx

thx for the advise, I know that us pallys count on are yellow damage more then we do white and did not know that the one-handed spec. helped out that much.

I would say no, check out my armory page and I would say you need to be a bare minimum of those stats to tank heroics.
Bare minimum in every category of Defense, HP, Spell Damage, Block, Dodge, Parry, and armor.
Edit: Nevermind I logged out in my DPS gear.
Things to look out for:
you need 490 Defense,
102.4% Avoidance (read thels' guide)
200 spell damage
as much stamina and armor as you can get, at least 10k before you start in heroics, preferrably more.

I have seen tanks go in with 511+ defense but lacking the proper amount of avoidance or something and still get creamed.
Those Patrollers on the first room of Mech are bad *** mofos.
Don't even think about tanking a Heroic until EVERY SINGLE piece of green gear you own is gone and replaced with lvl 70 Blues and hopefully epic rep rewards like the shield off the Sha'tar.
Basically SH, Arc or SL should be a cakewalk for you on regular before you even eye up the easiest of the heroics.

To find out your avoidance add your
Miss Chance (Defense) + 5
Crit Miss Chance (Defense)
Parry Chance
Dodge Chance
Block Chance (With Holy Shield up)
Looking at your armory page, your avoidance right now is at about 70% to a level 70 mob.
