help with tendris warpwoodFollow

#1 Sep 05 2007 at 1:00 AM Rating: Decent
I have a 70 ret pally trying desperately to get my freaking charger. Have all the mats, including both of the diamonds, just can't seem to take out warpwood in dire maul! I can get him to about half life before he completely dominates me. Any help is greatly appreciated, and would also love to pull a group for the scholo run, yes I have the key too. I'm on kel'thuzad if anyone is interested. Would love any info on how to finally get this guy down or should I just bag the 400g+ that i've already spent and just get a faction mount and not worry about the special charger? Thx for any help

Are you clearing out all of the protectors first?

Either way, I’d suggest a group. You and one or two lvl 60s should do it.

When I completed that phase I had a 68 rogue for dps, a 60 pally healing and me at lvl 62 tanking; killed him easily.

You might be able to solo it with the right strategy but it would be more fun to take some lower level Pallies and help them with their quest, imo.

Yea I cleared out all the protectors, but still can only get him down to half way, or close to half life. Maybe you're right, but seems like no one, at least in my guild has a pally that is anywhere near high enough. Thinking about just passing on the quest and just buying an epic mount so I can start grinding money for my flying mount.

Consider posting on your realm forums that you're looking for another paladin or two to work on this with.

Worth a shot.

I dunno what your strategy is, since you are ret are you using a 2-hander? Cause you will be a lot more effective with a sword and shield, using judge of wis and just hacking away at him the typical solo-elite way, the survivability way. Sure it will take forever, but it will most likely net a win.

I agree with CapJack.

sword and board, light/wisdom, bandage, potion, LoH = WIN

Just get one or two high level friends to help you out. It will be a fast fight.

While the above answers seem to give you enough food to actually DO it, I would like to add one thing:

The Charger is special. It is unique. You will not see anyone else on it except a fellow paladin (be it horde or alliance, which is a shame imo). You just go and get it, ok? Deal? Handshake? Good.

It is not even the money you already invested, it is a matter of principle.

its a tough fight to solo and youll end up blowing up most of your cds during the fight but it is doable the sword/board way but it requires some timing to get down
i used loh, bandages, and every bubble.. you basically have to pop the shield when you think can last that 1 minute for the debuff to go away and you can rebandage/heal the difficulty goes down a nice chunk as prot with ardent defenders and reckoning but it is still doable ret
