Hey guys, we just ran ST a few minutes ago. Well we 4 man'd it until lass boss. We wiped. Luck have it, after we spirit healer rez'd we were hanging out in Stonard. The mage said he needed to complete a mage quest in there.. well I offred to get my Hunter and get a bit of revenge on the dragon.

Just as I said that a 70 Orc Warrior ran by. I jokingly said "I don't suppose you'd be willing to kill the last dragon in ST would ya please? We died at him and we were a man short".

He said sure! He kicked that dragons butt 6 ways from Sunday... and I got....
Dragon's Call
I'm fury spec'd now.. I know it's not the greatest dps weapon, but I'm pumped that it's mine ^^

Whoooo ok, all better now... now you can go and bring me down to Earth by telling me how bad it is lol Smiley: yippee

*Edit* Oh yeah I gave the Warrior 5G (not much for for 5 minutes work not shabby) for the help. I told him I would before we fought the dragon lol, it was not a OMG an Epic.. here's money cause I'm happy.

Lol thanks. Yeah I was a bit excited Smiley: blush

I will tell you that the whelp procts just about every fight. He only last long enough to tank for a second, and atm it's lv 55.. I think that's going to be it's only level. Does some nice damage, and spits some venom, but does not poison the mob.. I have not really checked if it stayed on the mob or not. I should do a bunch of BRD runs and get more weapons then hit some BG action.

As you mentioned yourself this sword ain´t the best thing to wield. I would suggest you to get the Ice Barbed Spear which is a quest reward from winning alterac vale, which kicks *** in the fifties.

or just get to 60 and ask your hunters guild [if you're not in the same one] to do a nostalgic bwl run and pick up some items there... like the feet, ring, trinket... most of all ashkandi or the 1h [oh] axe vael drops

going in there and downing vael in <1 minute is something else ;)

however i wish there was a distinction between the *original* items, and those that you can get now ... mainly, i love my ash' and run around with it just for fun because i think it's the greatest looking weapon evar! but lately, more than a few people have been running bwl for fun, and the rarity/originality of the weapon has greatly decreased... esp. considering before, probably about 5 people had it horde side, if that.

Or you can get to lvl 60 and run some Ramparts in Hellfire Peninsula and get the two handed sword or Polearm that drops from there. =) There is some decent lewts too, from quests and drops.

I did decide to go that route. OMG I can't remember this home stretch being so long to get to. I'm 55 right now, with just under 1/2 exp bar full. Seems like it's taking forever.

However I was Timbermaul furbolg rep grinding, which was very slow (and I'm still like 1/4 of the rep bar until neutral :/ Have not even touched any of the Plaguelands yet, I HATE sliterus place (I don't like PvP or group quest so much), and still got many Burning Steps and Searing Gorge quest to complete.

I'll get there. 58 I am going over. I know I'll have a very hard time... but the gear will be worth it (seeing how from lv40-58 there's been nothing in the AH).

that weapon is awesome. i wish blizz did more of that stuff; super-rare incredibly-unique items that drop in the outlands instances too. ill never get rid of my blackblade of shahram, just because the sword itself, the potential story behind the sword, and the effect of the sword are so unique and awesome. way better than anything else in the xpac content with the possible exception of the warglaives. but even then the warglaives dont summon an awesome salamander guy who can aoe stun everyone in an 8 yard radius for 6s, or give you +50 all stats for 20s (sometimes up to three such buffs at a time!).

Normally I don't rate-up Necro-posters, but seeing how it's mine, there you go Saanich.

Yeah, I don't BG or Arena. My Hunter was a 'getting familiar with WoW toon', nothing more lol. I've ran a few Instances with my Hunter, but getting invites were a tad bit slow (that's when I changed to Warrior).

I've gotten some gun epic that was BoE... but I sold it... it was my Hunter that got it too, I just could not see equiping that kind of money item.

My first useable epic was Vanquisher's Legplates from Heroic Mech. Also I hit exalted with Sha'tar in that run, so I got the Crest of the Shatari too. Late bloomer, but now I have multiple epics! Woo!

My first usable epic was my Quel'Serrar
Twas a happy day, the day I got that :)

My first usable epic (not counting epic mount) is http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=28425&locale=enUS;source=live (Fireguard epic blacksmithing sword) which I finally made last Friday. I got my second usable epic this weekend as well because I got the ring from the Headless Horseman. I haven't done a lot of instances since hitting Outland so I'm a bit behind in gear.

I have considered going back to ST to see if I can get that sword just to use while running lowbie guildies through stuff. I'm not sure I can solo my way though even at 70. :(

Gratz (belatedly so apparently lol) on the sword.

As for running it solo at 70, it can be done, but if you are careless, a 70 can still die in there.

I solo it fairly frequently for something to do to pass the time and I have never, not once, in all my run with all my characters, ever seen that damned sword drop.

I did get Firebreather once, but its not the same.

I can be careful to the point of annoying at times. :)

I kind of want to solo it enough to really learn the place as I tend to get lost there still. Being prot spec, my lack of high DPS does mean that I'm not the fastest for soloing stuff but I have good survivability.

Whatever you do, make sure everything is dead before you attack Eranikus...

Need I elaborate on how I uncovered that nugget of truth?

LoL
I can imagine though fortunately I have never been in a group that didn't make absolutely sure. I wouldn't mind hearing the story though. :P

I did learn quite some time ago that you can't let the "Twilight" mobs in the back part of BFD run away and bring friends as I died soloing them around level 40.

I also learned that vanishing on a Rogue soloing Deadmines during the Van Cleef fight after he summons the extra adds just means that you will have him plus 4 adds and an additional 2 that he summons when you get him down in HP again. >.<

Nice grats Gyff. Seems ST has been nice to wars lately, I picked up(im not linking going home :D) Flurry Axe. Even thou I'm 12 lvs over it now, man that thing rocks. It double attacks at least at a 50% rate, or so it seems. Reminds me so much of my Joyeuse(from FF)

Lol - I was a fresh level 70 warrior, and decided that, seeing as though I had never run (not even entered) Scarlet Cathedral, I would saunter into Lib, get the key, and check out Cath.

Things went very well, I walked past most mobs, and those that I aggro'd were quickly dealt with.

So I get to the main cathedral door, open it up ... and there in the distance, at the end of the hall is Mograine (sic). So I weave my way through the mobs stationed all over the place (agro'd 1, that's all), and attack Mograinne ....

You know the rest, don't you ...

Needless to say, a level 70 warrior cannot stand up against ~40 level 38-42 elites all at the same time, they may hit you for 20 each, put 20*40 is 800 ... even 10k hp doesn't last forever against that.

I've never told a living soul about that before ... it's taken me a good 6 months to admit it, consider yourselves Honored ;-)

Ok, since we are having a catharctic moment, here's my tale of woe...

Being a rogue, I did what rogues do, I stealthed through the entire instance, only killing the guy in the middle of the light ring, the troll bosses and the prophet and his lackey.

I started to lay into Eranikus and saw the text block light up red with his cry for help.

Needless to say, evasion will only last so long when every single dragonkin in the instance is wailing on you...

Lol - Yes, I pulled it outta him ... and quite easily too.

I feel your pain Jamboo ... I've been brought down to earth on 1 or 2 other occasions since then, thinking I'm an invincible 1337 warrior.

Interestingly enough, I almost had another, similar experience in SM cath while running a guildie through ... only then it wasn't the whole cathedral, it was just every mob on the lower section .... still, about 30 or so.

I survived that one with about 1/4 hp left, and earned an adoring fan in the form of the Guildie I was running through. There was a pile of bodies around my feet, and yeah, it must have looked pretty impressive with the SS/cleave/ww/t-clap combos flying ;-)

My first epic was crafted rather than from a drop.

It is: http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=28434&locale=enUS;source=live

I am absolutely loving it and managed to get it enchanted last night with Savagery.....for even more AP ;)

I have managed to avoid the SM Cathedral mishap but I was watching my boyfriend double-box with his 70 Hunter and a level 29(?) alt and the alt's low level aggro'd Mograine with most of the back sections of the Cathedral uncleared. He died amid much cussing.

I was soloing BFD for the first time around level 40 and got into the section near the temple with all the Twilight Cultist type mobs and a runner got away from me and then another and another and while I was cutting them down pretty well, I just got totally overwhelmed. After I came back, I started using Line-of-Sight to pull the groups as far into my cleared area as possible so the runners couldn't find anyone. I love using LOS to control situations now. :)

Nice epic, Bilbosorc! I'm considering making the two-handed epic smithing sword but the mats are a bit daunting. I think it takes 10 Primal Mights which go for about a hundred gold each on my server and they can't be farmed. I think I need to level up my poor Alchemist (who is around 280 right now) so she can make me some 'cheap' Primal Might.

Thankyou Morghast

Skilling up your alchemist would indeed be the best path for the Primal Mights. They are 100G a piece on my server too and along with the 12 Primal Airs that I required, it cost me a pretty penny to craft, but was well worth it.
