Hello wise druids,

I am levelling up a druid at the moment and will soon be at 60. I have enough plants to get my cenarion rep to honored once I hit 60 and was eyeing the
Warden's Hauberk

I will be using my druid to tank instances and to obviously level up, hence will be feral 100% of the time.

My questions for this item are:
1) Can I buy two of these and gem them up appropriately? (it seems like I can.. it doesn't say unique).
2) Assuming so, what are the gems appropriate for bear?
3) What are the gems appropriate for kitty?

Money/obtaining high quality gems is not an issue as I have a pile of gems spare in the bank.

Also, is +6 stats always the best way to go?

Ty in advance.

I'm not one of the "wise" druids, but I'm bored so here's my two cents. : )
Expect better and more mathematically substantiated info shortly.

FYI, one of the first quests when you hit the Outlands, in Hellfire Peninsula, is a sweet piece with double the armor of Warden's Hauberk and good stats. Maybe this is only useful for those of us that didn't have such solid Cenarion rep and a collection of gems waiting to be socketed. : )

Jerkin of the Untamed Spirit
http://thottbot.com/i28051
425 armor (2125 in bear)
+26 Strength (= 62 AP assuming heart of the wild talent)
+25 Agility (= 25 AP and moderate crit/dodge)
+22 Stamina

Warden's Hauberk
238 Armor (1190 in bear)
+39 Agility (= 39 AP and serious crit/dodge)
+30 Stamina

Seems like for bear form all that agility/dodge, 8 more stam, and three gem sockets pretty much make up for Warden's Hauberk having only half the armor, but from what I've seen the Jerkin's 425 armor is a lot more than you'll see on any piece until you get your Heavy Clefthoof Vest at 70. That'd be a tough call. Assuming Hauberk I'd stack it with stamina gems since it's already so heavy on agility.

Again, for cat form I'm pretty sure the +87 AP you get out of Jerkin is more than you'll see for some time, til the dragonhawk and of the tiger pieces in the upper 60s. As far as gems there it's AP vs. crit. The +4 hit rating isn't enough of a bonus to stick to red-friendly gems, so go with whatever gave me the most agility or strength, depending on what I wanted to boost with this particular piece, crit or AP. I'd be stacking agility, personally.

Do keep in mind that on the Hauberk you can cram in 24 more str/agi for kitty, and 12 agi/18 sta or 36 more stamina for bear. This puts the Hauberk solidly higher for bear or cat than Untamed Spirit.
1) you should be able to.
2) Bear likes shifting nightseyes (4 agi 6 stamina) or solid stars of elune (12 stamina), depending on personal preference/needs. Dodge is good.
3) Kitties like Bold and Delicate living rubies (8 str and agi, respectively), again depending on personal preference (AP vs. less AP and crit).

1) seems that you can, but the Jerkin is better for tanking (edit: it has better base mitigation/armour, but the hauberk, if gemmed correctly, will beat it by 55 mit points)

2) I don't think you'll manage the magic 415 Def in the early 60's, so I'd say agility/stamina gems for tanking

3) for cat, Str > Agi > AP

For chest, the +6 to stats beats any other chest enchant hands-down, imho

Given the relatively cheap price, and usefulness of this piece while leveling to 70, I snagged one. Instead of min/maxing two of them, I splurged and put 3 shifting nightseyes(+4AGI/+6STA) in it when I found some up cheap on the AH one night for a more balanced stat approach. Along with +6 stats nets me +57AGI, +54STA. Maybe I'm just being a little lazy in my approach to have one decent chest piece for both cat and bear forms until I hit 70 though. ><
