Alright, well i figured you guys would know this best so here it goes. I'm gonna level up a balance druid and was wondering what you guys would say is the best class for my friend to go. I don't think he minds what class he is, he just doesn't want to be a warrior.

You can tell me the class, or you could tell me why also :D. Thanks!

I will check this thread often so if you need information about something I'll tell you.

Thanks for the responses, its just that from what I've heard the best combos are a melee/caster but I may be wrong! Thanks for your valuable input.

Almoust everything will work with a druid, even if he is balance, warlock(hunter) for good dps and void to tank, paladin for 2 heals and tank, shammie for maximum ownage and heal.Is Just a matter of choice so ask your friend what would like.

I recommend a fire mage, it allows full use of Pyroblast when paired with Roots.

An easy kill with this would be;

0s Mage casts Pyro
3.5s Druid casts Starfire
6s Starfire and Pyro go off
7s Mage starts second Pyro, Druid Roots
10.5s Druid casts Starfire
13 Mob dies

This obviously varies based on the mobs level, you can often kill much faster, using just fireballs from the mage, and wrath and roots from the druid.

The only thing I would suggest is not a rogue or druid. Purely so that you aren't competing for the leather armor.

Druid offers the flexibility to partner well with any class. Being able to heal/tank/dps really opens up a lot of options.

Why would that be so? The stats they need are completely different.

The fastest leveling combo would be feral. In which case you most definitely would be after the same gear. Leveling, I had to use many rogue pieces (and still do!). The Assassination set is pretty good for a feral druid, I still use the shoulders for tanking.

Any other spec than feral and the rogue is going to be sitting around waiting while the druid drinks :)

In early levels it's hard to get good balance gear for druid, so if you duo with a caster friend, you would be competing for the same gear. To some extent this is true all the way to lvl 70. I think i would go with a pally or maybe even shammy (still some gear competition though)

I would pair with either a rogue or another druid - any spec. That way you can still stealth run anything.

As a feral druid, my favorite companion in any standard group is a balance druid. Some of the best equipment my druid has picked up is quest/PVP rewards in the 30-40 bracket and post 58, so you probably won't need to compete too much with your friend for gear.

Plus if you have 2 druids, you can always post for PUGs with: "have tank and healer need 3 more".

(Edit: pulled out unnecessary sig, actually made the point I wanted to in the second paragraph).
