I'm elemental leatherworker and skinner. In the old days I actually used some of my crafted stuff like the helm of fire or stormshroud. Unfortunately I found many expansion recipes somewhat lacking though so I haven't spent much effort on crafting stuff in TBC with my rogue.

I suppose primalstrike could be useful if I were not raiding and of course the armor sets are useful, but I could just as well buy those. Mainly I just keep the profession to be able to craft stuff for friends and lower level alts and such.

I was skinning & leatherworking while leveling my rogue, and switched to blacksmithing last week for my hammer

I am infinitely happier, and have a reliable source of primal fires from mining now.

It really is easy

The exact guide I followed, got me blacksmithing to 359 after a few days of farming materials. It will cost you dearly, though, if you dont have mining already.

That's what I meant. Spending upwards of 2000g to powerlevel a profession is not exactly what I call "easy".
