Feeling a bit underwhelmedFollow

So my druid is about 2 bars away from 67, and I just came back to the game from the summer off. I grinded most of the level on Laughing Skull ogres, and hit Kurenai Revered, as well as saving up over 200 necklaces.

Although I tear through the ogres (65-66 warrior and shaman types) pretty fast, I still feel underwhelmed by the performance of my Druid. Each normal hit does relatively small damage, the bleed effects are nice, but take a while, and only crits really shine.

Just curious if there are some ideas on what would do better for my kitty? Would a huge and expensive +strength enchant on my weapon make a big difference? Should I aim for more agility for crit and dodge? I have a fairly agi-focused gear amount right now (Aureliano on Sen'Jin is my character: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Sen%27jin&n=Aureliano), with 201 strength 310 agility, and 392 stamina for 6.4k hp with MotW. Crit is probably around 19-22% when in kitty form.

I'm also curious what reps I should go for that I can solo grind (group play is difficult with my schedule... and with PUGs).

I primarily want to hit 70 to start on daily's and get my epic flyer :D

As far as rep goes, maybe the easiest the farm for a nice feral reward is Consortium. Save the quests til after honoured at least, and the necklaces you've farmed can be handed in at Aeris Landing.
After that, move on to farm at The Heap in Netherstorm for Zaxxis Insignia, 250 rep for ten.
Exalted will get you Haramad's Bargain (26str, 25AG).

You can do the group quest in the Ring of Blood in Nagrand for Staff of Beasts (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=25761) and other blue quest rewards will come slowly with pugs.

Check http://www.gurgleblaster.net/emmerald/Cat_Sustained_DPS/Neck.html for the better quest rewards

for a quick and easy upgrade,do the Ring of blood quests in Nagrand, and get this : Staff of beasts

Other than that,I think you will see a good improvement once you get closer to (and reach) 70 and start gathering blues..

I'm at 2100 ap and 32 % crit atm,and I tear through things pretty quick ;)

Edit: Gah,to slow :D
great minds think alike it seems :D

Keep in mind that in kitty form, you're doing white damage every second, so, if youre hitting for 100 each blow, thats 100dps right there, plus your energy consuming attacks, plus your combo point attacks. It will probably always seem like you're hitting softer than you should be, because a druid in catform strikes deftly and frequently to do damage, but the damage meters will show otherwise. At 70, after doing instances all summer, my druid is full of blue and a few purple items, and I have 1900 FAP (with a green druid staff). I can do a steady 400 dps in instances, when I get the chance to dps (most often I'm tanking).

But at lvl 67/68 do not worry about doing incredible damage. As long as you're able to kill the mobs and earn XP, you should be happy until level 70. Once you hit 70, there is alot of wonderful kitty gear in instances (and a few nice quest items: Check out the Shattrath leggings or Clefthoof Hide Leggings) Do not enchant you're weapon until you have something worth keeping.

There are 3 ways you could go when amassing str and agi. The first would be to get as much str as possible, this will help your white damage, allow you to get bigger crits, etc. Another way would be to stack agi, so that your critrate increases, as well as your dodge, armor. The extra combo point with every crit is very nice and lots of agility will allow you to fire off combo attacks very quickly. The third method would be to try to balance them. I recenly saw a graph someone made demonstrating how total dps relates to str and agi, and according to the graph, it seemed that they increased dps at roughly the same rate.

Also, if you can, find items that grant +str instead of +AP(attack, not armor). A good feral druid should get 2.4 FAP for every +str.

Grab the staff from ring of blood.

Other than that dont really worry about equips till 70. the equips in game dont scale well around 67-69.

At 70 tho, there is lots of good stuffs!

Nice tanking mace (good also for dps with +500 or so ap in cat/bear/moonkin forms) from Cenarion expdition, requires exalted and about 200g. lvl 70.

The list goes on and on at 70.

It also makes a difference that you are fighting relatively high armor mobs. Find some mage and warlock types and you'll see a big difference in how quick they fall to cat form. Against warrior type mobs I find more success in collecting three or four at a time, going bear, and using swipe for crits to generate rage and spreading around lacerates and mangles.

Use the Mangle -> Maim -> Shred combo as well to get some big numbers and lower the damage you take at the same time.
