Just something that dawned on me today, does a trinket affect all spells that are thrown out while it's active, or all damage that the mob takes while it's active?

For instance lets say I want to put a curse of doom on something for max damage. First I would amplify curse, then would I trinket or should I save the trinket until it's about to explode?

Trinkets are applied at the time the spell leaves your hand. That means at the end of the cast time for Shadow Bolt, when you cast it for DoTs and at the beginning of the channel for things like drain life.

Whaaaaaat? Good to know then...if less than three seconds left, cast drain life instead of SB.

don't you mean less than 2.5seconds :P but ya, you could argue that to get the best use from the trinket you should use something else, though IMO you'll still benefit more dps ways by doing a SB even if it means you waste the last bit of the trinket.
