I heard from a fellow guildie that blizzard will nerf mace spec in patch 2.3. Can anyone confirm that and does anyone have more information about what the nerf will be? All my fellow guildie said was that blizzard has stated that they will "reduce the effectiveness of the mace spec" in patch 2.3

best regards

ive seen nothing about this. i dont know how they could reduce its effectiveness now without gimping the talent. they might release more maces that are sub-3.7 spd, which would serve to be a nerf to the PPM of the talent without actually nerfing the talent itself.

But they could just choose to nerf the talent, or not? reduce PPM fx.... I hope not as I am about to craft thunder....

Gotta keep clicking the Bliz icon to get to the post, but Kalgan has said

And does that include toning down Stormherald swinging, Mortal Strike Warriors, who are dominating GROUP PvP? That's where balance is supposed to be met, right?

I see you hit Paladins with a couple duration reductions on Blessing of Freedom (2.2). That's one way to do it, but that's an indirect approach to the Real problem.

Yes, one of the changes is a reduction to the mace spec stun proc rate.

Said else where that they want to make it even with Sword and Axe spec.

hmm. mace spec is going to be very "either-or". either its good and people take it for the pvp advantage, or it sucks and people drop it for sword or axe spec.

axe spec is always going to be nerfed relative to the other two thanks to resilience affecting the damage of a high-crit person more than a lower crit person, but sword spec still has some power to it; enough so to rival mace spec as it is now with a good sword.

it takes a 3.8 spd weapon to get an 11% chance to proc on hit now with mace spec (basically the thunder-series). a 3.6 spd mace is a 9% chance to proc, or near enough, and thats what the gladiator mace is. anything lower than that and sword spec starts to really top mace spec (instead of roughly equalling it). this wont end "MS warrior domination" as some people put it. this will just mean more people spec sword.

WTB: Removed Stun effect from Mace Stun. Also remove Rage gains. New effect:

Gives you a 2/4/6/8/10% to deal 50% additional damage on an attack.

Think "Crushing Blow". So, what's the point? Well... it wouldn't be mutually exclusive with crits. 150% * 220% (Impale) * 125% (Enrage) = 412% of a normal attack.

Ouch. It sounds more overpowered than it is (Crit, Sword Spec Proc + Crit is about the same statistical probability, and is actually considerably better burst damage), but it'd be a unique effect and be considerably better for PvE... while making people stop QQing about the damn stun effect. It'd definitely be a bit of a PvP nerf, but... well... I'm tired of people ******** about it all the time.
