Paladin Leveling Guide for the FAQFollow

#1 Aug 24 2007 at 11:50 AM Rating: Decent
I wanted to include a couple of leveling guides from 1 - 70 in the FAQ as well. I'm going to put in my method of leveling and was hoping that a couple people here can write out a detailed leveling guide for the FAQ. Not super detailed, but just general 1-10, 11-20, etc... Including specs and techniques.

One thing I am looking particularly for is an AOE grinding guide. How many mobs you can take of what level, where the best place is to go, etc...

i only was prot from lvl 43ish on, and u said thats what your mainly looking for, so here it is:

spec wise, the only real important ones for grinding are reckoning, holy shield, redoubt, and i would take wep-spec for increased dmg.

from 43-45, grind in the pirate cove in tanaris, theres plenty of quests too.

from 45-49ish (cant remember), go to searing gorge in the cauldron...plenty of quests.

from 49-58, go to western plaguelands!!! like 99% undead! Start just next to chillwind camp, the work your way through the different fields.

53ish-56 (optional), try felwood. plenty of quests and close together mobs throughout it. especially any demons and furblogs i think theyre called.

this is just how i did it. i dont really like kalimidor, so theres prob some good spots there i didnt mention.

places NOT to go for specifically lvling as prot:

un'goro crater, i would advise against winterspring, burning steppes, didnt really try swamp of sorrows or blasted lands.

As for specs, you can find plenty of those in the FAQ and lots of posts.

Technique:

(ret aura, BoSanct or BoWis, depending on situation) avengers shield; consecrate; SoL, SoW, or SoR depending on situation...its pretty obvious which to use usually; holy shield whenever redoubt procs, sometimes more depending on how many im facing (usually 4-5 my lvl, tho i just hit outlands and plan to increase that when i gear up with full outlands gear...hoping for about 1k more health at least and some more +defense).
If you cant tell, it really depends on the situation and the player/spec too in my opinion.

Cool thanks, I'll probably include a good amount of that.

Just link Jamies leveling guide for Horde/Alliance. Great resource. Plus the fact that leveling as a paladin is really no different than any other class. You are going to go through exactly the same content.

I had a feeling you were going to say something like that Smiley: lol.

I just wanted a quick run-down from experienced Paladins who knew how to maximize their grinding efficiency or really think they got down pat the best way to level. I will probably link the guide as well. I guess I don't really want content so much as techniques. Specifically like I mentioned earlier, AOE grinding. I just know that I have seen a few people asking for a Paladin leveling guide in the forums. Maybe not level by level, but what talents to get and what to get/what to do. I'll figure out how to make it all gel later, but right now I'm just looking for the raw data so to speak.

This is a tough one. Paladins can grind endlessly forever without the need to drink or really eat and with little to no risk in dieing. The problem is, they do it at a very slow pace. So generally Paladins will want to quest as much as possible, unless there is a good camp for your Paladin to fight at.

But it always helps to bring food and water just incase. You should also specialize in First Aid so you dont have to waste your precious mana on healing.
Moreso on fighting.

Talent tree should be set up for retribution. And you should be packing a nice 2-hander your not woried so much about armor but how quick you kill your target a two hander has higher DPS. Because if SoC procs it's gonna take out a big chunk of health out of the thing your fighting.

Welcome to World of Warcraft! After a neat cinematic, you should be located in one of the three starting zones. These first ten levels are extremely simple! Just do all of the available quests in the starting zone you start in until you are level 10. We have walkthroughs of both Elwynn Forest and Dun Morogh if you have any trouble, along with our Zone Database for any quests that you are having trouble with. When you are out of quests, simply scroll on down and get ready for the real meat of the game.

Grinding

Grinding the first fifteen levels is not a very good option, due to how fast and easy the starting quests are. Always get your first quests done to purchase enough skills so that you aren’t fighting with just your starting skills. The drops early on (combined with your limited bag space) generally won’t pay for your skills.

Anyway, if you do choose to grind out your first ten levels then do so on the boars in both Elwynn Forest and Dun Morogh. Extremely weak and easy enemies, they will provide the fastest XP.
