I'm personally a shadow priest, but I did look over the disc tree generously...and am considering it for the future. Of course, there are always little things here or there in any tree/any class that work better or not so great (and that also depends on what other talents you have as well) but the bottom line is that 1- you found something you like, and 2- you figured out how to play it. Sure...straight holy priest or straight shadow priest sounds great, but if you don't know how to play it, it doesn't matter what talents you have- you will suck. I've seen good priests in all trees, and I've seen all bad too. I worked with a disc priest one day and it was great. We complimented eachother really well. Everyone has their preferences, and unless one has rolled a priest themselves, they won't understand. Let em think what they want to think about your choice; it will be their loss if they ever turn you away.

I posted earlier in this thread, and now I am lvl 70 and still mainly disc (well more of a smite build). Yesterday i was in a Headless Horseman group, and i didn't need to heal as we had a resto druid. So I popped my damage gear on and did respectable damage and offhealed too :D

When the Disc tree get overhauled in the next patch, and we get this +damage on healing thingie, I'm going to have another look at it and probably will spec further into Disc.

I like my hybrid build. I mainheal my static group without an offhealer and i can solo fairly well too, and do some PVP when i fancy it :D
