any Shaman out there use Logitechs G15 keyboard?Follow

Well i ordered a G15 keyboard the other day and all the so called "G keys" looked so appealing for maybe... totems?

i thought that those would really help out a lot to free up my F keys since that is where my most used totems go.

also all those times when u need a rarely used totem to save the day but it takes to long to open up ur spell book... idk if any of u have that problem but i sometimes find that that is the case... like where was damn windwall totem when that hunter was nuking me

But i was just wondering if any of u have it and if it does in fact save a lot of time, clear up other buttons, and occasionally save ur life =P and maybe what u have keyed to some of those buttons?

also i hate clicking since for me at least it seems i have to take a extra second or two to look over the screen or sometimes mis click and hit... BLOODLUST, and thats when the party gets fun.=D ( i know u all have prematurely hit bloodlust or hit it by accident, lol)

anyways im stoked for its arrival

I don't have one but, my GF has one, and occationaly I play on her setup.

Frankly I don't use her keyboard to its full extent, and neither does she. She doesn't cuz she's too lazy to look it up...and well...I'm kinda the same way lol!

Heh, Seriously tho, for me its actually more that my playing style is based on efficency of movement. Thus, my setup and playing style revolves around my fingers (left hand) never leaving the (w,s,a,d) movement keys any further than the "5" or "F". Everything...and I mean EVERYTHING is key'd to that location pretty much. To me, if my hand leaves the wasd, then I'm not moving or that means my right hand (on mouse obviously) is now "moving" my character...and if the right hand is "moving", then that means its not "clicking" or targeting"...and thats not good usually.

That being said, having extra keys on a board just means that one of my hands (namely the left) is going to have to remove its self from the wasd area in order to use the extra keys the G15 comes with...which to me is a waste of movement.

So to me, using just a few free downloaded mods and some creative macro writing, I've saved myself a couple bucks and I'm faster (hand speed wise anyhow) than the average joe usually :)

Now I'm not talking down on it, and I do really like the back lighted keys (great for the closet case WoW junky like myself that plays in the dead of night/early morning), but the added keys don't support my play style. I'm sure someone might have found a useful use for its abilities and I am not full of myself to think that I have the "best" way. But its only a "tool", and tools are only as good as user that uses it!

I use a g15 on my shaman and hunter.

I create g key macros for chain heal, disease/poison cleansing totems, purge. Any spell I need to cast but don't have room for on the main action bar.

I also use it for trite things like my mount. Imo any time yo find yourself clicking something frequently just make a g key macro for it.

My chain heal is item 6 on bar 5 so the g15 macro is shift 5 6 shift 1. Works very well for me.

Your mileage may vary.

I found totemus to be really annoying and takes up ALOT of my screen. I feel the same way Gpyfb does if my hands leave my "movement" keys I am not being as productive. Ive found keeping all my action bars on screen helps alot. Keep tots grouped in the most useful configuration for synergy and usage. For pretty much everything I use an addon called healbot.. its simply amazing, lets you heal yourself and your party with all your different spells set to mouse keys mostly and cleanse with a simple alt+click and others with ctr+click. Makes healing parties or just yourself a breeze and it keeps your healings spells out of your "highest priority" action bar slots. Maybe Im biased but I think any casting class should have it :)

Sorry to re-BUMP a semi-old topic, but I just had to profess my love for the Logitech G15. I don't use any specific addon for it really, just Bongos with the G-keys rebound through the keyboard's software.

My interface looks like this: http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a166/Beanz2055/Zarni-Interface2.jpg

I use it to keep multiple ranks of heals available at all times (my totems are bound to my numpad), and also for reactionary abilities in reach of the movement keys with my pinky (lock rocks, grounding tot., tremor tot.).

I also have thie G15 keyboard. How can I display the spells associated with the G keys on the screen as you did? Also, what's the name of the add-on that displays the crescent-shaped hp/mana bar on the screen? Thanks,

Chica :)

The crescent shaped health and mana bars are part of a HUD (Heads Up Display). It's most likely MetaHud, but it may be Drathal's Hud.
