Gettign Exalted with AldorFollow

I am currently working toward getting exalted with Aldors. I got to Honored in one night of grindind Marks of Kiljaeden (spelling) and plan to do all available quests to help get to exalted. But even so, I did the math on Marks of Sargeras and it would take 1320 marks!!

33000 rep points from Honored to Exalted /
25 points per Mark of Sargeras
= 1320 Marks!!

Obviously through questing for Aldors and occasional Fel Armaments it would go quicker. But my question is:

1. Would it be easier to grind gold and buy armaments/marks or should I grind them out? I say grind gold because I am not rich (just bought flying mount).

2. If grinding them out is faster, what is the best spot?

3. Any other advice?

p.s. Want a good laugh, check the drop rate for fel armaments on thottbot.com, they said like 43% off some mob in Deathforge SMV. HA!!

Well i am exalted with Aldor, and mixed between buying and farming. I would farm a couple hours a day and pvp / raid the rest of my time.

I would do as much quests as possible, this includes nether storm and shadow moon valley. Then i would farm for a bit at the western part of SMV (Don't know the name).

If you can farm the money fast enough then i wouldn't bother farming the marks i would just go onto the Ah and buy them as its alot faster.

What I did was grind the mobs that dropped the marks/armaments and then used the gold from the coin and loot that dropped off the same said mobs to purchase more armaments. It feels like you are moving a lot faster when you mix the two like this. The best place that I found for this was down in Death's Door in Blades Edge Mountain. The demons there drop decent coin and marks and an armament about 5% of the time. Best of luck with your grinding.

There's a small area just southeast of Area 52 that have those Fel-Dog type mobs and some other demons trolling around that drop both fairly well. Sorry I can't remember the mobs' names. Either way it's a sucky grind and I'm glad to be done with it.

Buy it. I spent about 1k gold getting scryer rep but I got it in three days.

Edit: I can make gold faster than I can get the rep tokens. If you can as well, then buy it. If you can't, grind it.

I have a noob question. my 70 isn't a rogue, but how do you make money in outlands? I have no idea. So far my money has come from finishing all the quests, but those will run out eventually.

Buying will get you it faster - but I wasn't too keen on spending all that gold.

So instead I just went to Eclipse Point (I'm scyrer) and put on some music and farmed for like 2 hours every once in awhile.

I would sell the stacks of nether cloth for like 4g a stack. (Usually had 5 or 6 stacks) Usually around 20g.

I would sell all the greens I found unless there was one that might sell on AH. Usually around 20g.

I would get lockboxes out the butt because of my cheapshot/pickpocket macro and would sell the blinding powder for ridiculous amounts on the AH because of lazy rogues. (Usually 2 or 3 stacks) Usually around 12-14g a stack.

I would vendor all greys. (Maybe 10g for all)

After leaving I usually had 5 or 6 Arcane Tomes and maybe 60 signets.

So instead of spending 150 gold for all that stuff I would generally make 100 gold.

It took MUCH longer than it would just to buy it all but it always kept me on stock with super health potions, blinding powders, and bandages, as well as poison mats.

It's really up to you how you wanna do it. But farming is a viable, logical option.

Thank you for all your responses. They were a big help as I was able to get to Revered in one night! I ended up having to go with a mix strategy as suggested here because of the lack of Marks (fairly priced anyways) and Armaments on AH.

I started grinding at Legion Hold in SMV, which yielded about 40 Marks and NO Fel Armaments in about an hour+. Went and turned these in and switched my grinding to Death's Door which yielded 50+ Marks and 2 Fel Armaments in about an hour+. It's a roll of the dice no matter where you grind but Death's Door seemed like a better spot over Legion Hold.

After turning these in I DE greens, put a couple on AH including cloth, and sold greys. Finished buying out AH of fairly priced marks (about 50s a Mark on Executus) and started posting the Trade channel. BLAM! Was instantly hit with about 3 people with 5+ Armaments and 80+ Marks to sell. Bought from one person at about 60-70% AH prices. Niiiiice. Got Revered and got the ring. Woke up today realizing I have to nearly double that to get to Exalted :(

P.S. Ended the night with about the same gold I started with using this method!!

Badass tabard and blood elves are better than tentacle rape?

I dunno, I wasn't really thinking when I chose Scryer.
