duel wielding?Follow

Can't find a decent 2 hander. But I got 2 good one handers, and I am fury speccd. I was thinking I made a mistake putting 4 points in increasing off hand damage, but maybe not so bad now. But duel wielding still increases missing right? Anyone know how much? At what point would a 2 hander be better? I never see any warriors duel wield, so that's why I'm aking. I hope no one laughs at me in the game. I hate it when people do that. People will probably say I should have rolled a rogue. But when my rogue uses a sword they say I should have rolled a warrior. You can see how this irritates me.

edit: well my dps meter seems to answer the question nicely. It's not the most accurate dps thingie, i mainly got this addon for the coordinates, but it had some dps thing. Probably a 25 or 33% increase in damage I'm doing. I still like to know how much duel wielding causes misses.

Dual wielding adds a 19% miss penalty to both main and offhand weapons. The base miss rate for all characters is 5%, so each weapon by itself has a 24% chance to miss (19% + 5%).

thusly, 2h = 5% to miss.

the DW penalty also, only applies to white damage. you still have a base 5% to miss on next-strike attacks (heroic strike) or instant attacks (bloodthirst)

if you are DW'ing, the additional points in off hand damage is monumental for your dps.

people that are telling you what you should roll are idiots, if you're there for PVE, combat sword spec for rogues is the best you can have for dps period. same for warriors and DW'ing.

most people 2h because they 1) don't have the gear to DW at a decent level, or 2) pvp a lot more than raid, and 2h [because of the MS debuff] is better for pvp.

any idea how to use slam while dw?

overall I'm happy with my fury dw build. To me, I actually feel like a warrior now. Taking ages to kill things with my 2 hander wasn't cutting it. Yeah I'm not specced or geared for tanking, but oh well.

and it frees up an inentory spot as I only have to keep shield in inventory, not 1 hander and shield. And only have to keep up with 1 handed skill. Though I'm sure at some point I'll have to keep my 2 handed skill up when I find a good one.

You get 2 weapons of the same speed and use slam like you would with 2h. It's said it puts out as much DPS a 2h fury, but I havn't tried it myself. Basicly, you slam, hit white hits with both weapons, slam, and so on. Chuck in BT every once in a while.

i've actually ran with a dw slam build with the decapitator from prince and it worked out pretty well until i got my meta gem put in. i used HS and right afterwards slam for a rage dump and saw an overall increase in my dps even though my OH is 1.6, although with flurry and my skyfire diamond, this has become pointless, yet i dare not respec impale because of aggro issues.
