size difference when tamingFollow

#1 Aug 17 2007 at 2:24 PM Rating: Sub-Default
I went to tame a pet, and was told that it was to large. I tamed a 14 raptor when I was an eleven( I had a paladin with me). what is the size difference so I know how large I need to be before I go back.

No, you didn't.

You cannot tame a pet whose level is higher than yours.

Ye, the animal you want to tame must be the same level as you are or lower.

What he/she meant by "tamed a 14 raptor" was "tried to tame"...

The "size difference" as you put it is a level difference. You have to be the same or higher level than the pet to tame it.

#5REDACTED, Posted: Aug 18 2007 at 6:21 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Actually ....yes I did. it might have been a glitch, wich in that case I will be happy I got him, but that explains why I can't get the Gorilla.

No, no you did not. If you managed to do that, you would be the first Hunter since open Beta to do that. You, are a liar. You had a genuine question, something that most Hunters would know about. The rest could learn the answer in the sticky. Then you came here, and figured you could ask it. But it sounded noobish, didn't it? It sounded like you weren't really a master of your class, and that you may not really know all too much about Hunters.

Ah, time to balance things out. A heroic deed like taming something three levels above you sounded about right! Right? This oughta impress these Hunters enough to make them feel awe and wonder about you, and fall head over heels to answer the question made by this quite heroic creature. One who would surely rise to become a legend among us.

And you failed. Miserably.

You thought to use a small and not too unbelievable lie, and it exploded in your face. You are now a lier. A creature who we look down upon, because instead of honest newbishness, you have reduced yourself to a lying little pissant. We don't like people like you. At least, I really don't.

So now you are left with three choices. Each, with it's own set of end results.

1. Leave quietly. Delete your user from Alla's server. This would in turn aid in us forgetting you, and your trespass against decency. This might be the safer of the three options, since it will prohibit any more ridicule at your expense.

2. Keep trying to keep this lie alive. Doggedly claim that you did in fact tame a level 14 raptor as a level 11 Hunter. An impossible deed, but you did it. This is the dumbest option, since it will forever mark you as nothing but a hoax, and a lying little shit. You will be shunned by anyone with a decent fiber in them.

3. Admit it. Come clean. Just explain your reasoning behind this lie, and get on with your forum life. I can assure you, it will be a forum name forever tainted with your initial lie, but it might prove the wisest course of action. In time, your initial mistakes might be forgiven, and you might turn out to be a valid poster. This option, will be the one that takes the most courage, and will be the hardest one.

I vote for number one, because I really don't like people like you turning my God Damned internet into a farm for morons.

This has been some friendly advice from your friendly neighbourhood "negative person" (thank you Iponema), NorthAI.

wow, you really ripped into him lol. Maybe he was just mistaken and not lying.

In either case, the question was answered. I never tried taming anything a higher level, as I knew all along you couldn't. I think your trainer tells you that when you learn to tame, not sure.

I love it when people make mountains out of mole hills... I can learn quite a bit from them.

Thanks NorthAI. :D
#9REDACTED, Posted: Oct 13 2007 at 8:58 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) wow, I am glad I don't get on this sight often. you are very petty. I asked an honest question, I wanted a gorilla, I couldn't find anything on the sight and I had a hard time finding it anywhere else. I do apologise that you are more computer savy then I am, but that is the truth. I don't remember being told any where about size difference, and since this seems to be a common question, there are a lot of people out there that don't rememer Either. I might be wrong on the size of the animal I tamed.......but it was larger. I didn't go out to get a larger one ofcourse, being new I am still very scared about most things wow. I went to get my pet with my son a sixty warrior, my daughter a 43 mage and my son inlaw, a 59 palidan, and guess what, they didn't know the size difference either. I wanted to get one of the smaller dinos, but my son inlaw kept killing them saying they wern't good enough, not to worry he would keep me alive. he finally let me get one that was bigger then me, saying I would like it better, it was prettier.

If you're old, you're not a boss b/c you're too retarded. No person of managorial status at a computer company would make that many spelling errors without throwing their keyboard through window after seeing spell check correct them too much.

And your question is answered in the sticky, go back and read it. As for north's suggestions, I'll add in a 4th:
Tell us where you live so we can egg your house. I'll buy the eggs.

Well, if you're going to talk about websights, maybe you should go back to the CIS 101 class. However, we can dig farther into the past. If it is a common question, it might fall under "every question" which the sticky states is answered there. Therefor you are a moron unable of adding 2 + 2 (just to help you out, it's 4) and should go back to 1st grade. On second thought, make that 4th grade with the way our school systems are nowadays. Back on topic...

you don't have to worry about forgetting me.......I don't stay places I am not wanted and where people are so closed minded and full of themselves they can not accept things that are a little different or there might be mistakes. you must work for the government.

1. We dont worry.
2. Why bother responding?
3. I am right, you are wrong if you disagree with me, so stfu and sit your dumbass down. (quoted from the mage sticky). We have discussed things over and over, some of have levelled several hunters, some of us have information or have read information that you can only get from looking into the games code. Yet, we make mistakes and you of course are the supreme arbiter of what is and isn't possible. We're all about creativity. But if I'm going to say that aimed shot always crits or that you are a moron, only one of those two statements will be accepted. Since we discussed your math problems earlier, I'll give you a hint: it wont be the aimed shot one.
4. I work for a grocery store. And I'm smarter than you. How is it you got a job working making websights? Do they have fyrewallz and inscription keys there? Or maybe keyboreds?

And I can already predict you saying "I'm good at math I took trig and calculus" or something to that effect, so dont even try it.

Well, I read this post because I thought it was the usual question about mobs shrinking when you tame them (I asked this one myself). And I read through all the subsequent drama.

This is not a lovey huggy forum. Well, rarely. There are very nice people, and even the most porcupine-esque (sp?) can be gracious under proper circumstances. But it is impossible that you could have tamed a higher level pet. If you truly think you did, you are simply mistaken. And insisting that you are correct and people who know the game inside out and backwards (not me btw) are wrong, well, that is just belligerent.

If you have a thick skin and are willing to do a decent amount of individual research, you will have a good time here. If you are easily offended or want basic info on tap, you will not.

Hope you find a forum that fits.

Sreenshot, or it didn't happen.

Also, what server was it so we know it wasn't an illegal server and you weren't using hacks.

Holy shit, this thing still going? I would have thought this post had permanently exhaled, and shed it's mortal coil to go live in the oblivion that is page 12+. Seriously guys, datestamps.

North, I hate you.

I spend the time thinking up a reply and I think "Man, I'm the one doing it this time instead of North." Then you throw around a much better string of insults.

What, you didn't expect me to let such a bundle of laughs go unanswered? Besides, you did all the hard work, I mostly just laughed in a White on Black format.

Oh, and after reading cdarraine's (very very late) response, I spent at least 15 minutes wiping tears of laughter off my face. I just thought he was an idiot noob. It turns out he's insanely lacking any hint of brain power or a sense of reality. If he was a monkey, he'd fling the poo at himself.

Kyuske! Loved that, rate up for the shear fact you gave me the giggles.

I feel the urge to say nasty things about the OP... I shall resist. *sigh* Besides I don't think there's much else to say that hasn't already been said. My insulting skills have gotten better since I started frequenting this forum.
