Some advice needed Follow

#1 Aug 17 2007 at 7:24 AM Rating: Decent
Hi,

I have just recently leveled to 70 and thinking about a new build and better gear.

Gear wise I would like to start aiming at picking up some reputation rewards like the Vindicator's Brand from Aldor Rep and some PVP items from the High Warlord's Vestments set. Then once I have okay gear moving on to the arena and getting the gear from them. Does this sound reasonable ? I find it hard to get a party on my server to do any instances so I think maybe PVP or Rewards might be the best option?

Build wise I am really not sure what would be best, I would like to stay combat maybe switching to maces for PVP? I have looked at the FAQ but really not sure what build would we best for me. Should I change to a dagger build for PVP? My current build is 17/41/0 which I think was okay for leveling.

Basically what would be the best option for someone that has bad gear and wants to get into PVP ?

Any advice would be great!

Basically Jay, if you want PvP rewards then you will just have to put up with your current gear and just grind the BG's until you have enough honour/marks to get what you want (I'd recommend the Veterans epic gear). You would do well to get the Vindicators brand you mentioned, its a really nice sword for those just turning 70 and the rep isn't all that hard to get. There are plenty Aldor quests in Shadowmoon Valley and also at Area52 in Netherstorm and after that just farm the marks of sargeras and fel armaments from the various demons in netherstorm/shadowmoon valley (they must be burning legion demons unlike the illidari demons in SMV).

If you have time I'd also suggest picking up blacksmithing to craft the epic BoP weapons (you need 350 blacksmithing which isn't too hard to get, no exotic mats required to get to 350). Here you have 2 choices, the Drakefist Hammer which is a pretty awesome mainhand considering how 'easy' it is to make, and if you want to stick to swords then there is the Fireguard which is perfect for the off-hand and again is pretty easy to craft.

Thanks for the info.

I have managed to get the sword and I also bought High Warlord's Leather Spaulders, socketed a few gems in it and put a aldor shoulder enchant on them. I bought this before I saw your reply so never saw about the Veterans epics. I now also think I should of went with the gloves!

I dropped LW/Skinning and have started Blacksmithing/Mining and nearly at 300 for them both. I think I will respec to a combat mace spec and go for the Drakefist Hammer that you suggested.

Hopefully over time I can get some decent gear and start racking up some kills :)
