What weapon should I go with for end game pvp? I was thinking Poleaxe specialty, but the Sword specialty looks very good as well.

And if you can make Thunder > Deep Thunder > Stormherald, that would be the icing on the cake really.
Is mace spec that good? i thought it was more of a dual wield thing

if you have a lot of gold, or have access to any characters (yours or your friends) with mining, drop mining yourself and pick up blacksmithing, I recently did it myself, another friend of mine has just completed his leveling through smithing and got his deep thunder, which i must say, is really damn amazing.
Hmm but would completely dropping a profession like engineering be worth an epic Mace like the thunder series? I mean, the arena weapon isnt too shabby...
He's not saying drop engineering, but rather drop mining, and level up both engineering and blacksmithing. :P
The s2 gladiator's 2h mace is way better than the first BS mace. Deep Thunder may be about comparable, but you're gonna need a ton of nethers to make it. Unless you're going to have access to 25-man raids, you'll never make the last one. Unless you're planning on running tons of heroics to get the nethers, BS is not worth the time and money it's gonna cost you IMO.
on my server (and we suck progression wise! JUST got a guild in hyjal/bt)
guilds are selling spots in ssc for the vortexes for weapons, and after you down gruul you can easily start working on ssc trash, so it's actually really not too bad anymore.
