So I read about seige weapons (or at least the idea of them) and I'm quite sure rogues are going to take "pain in the ***" to an all new level.

Anyone who ever played Battlefield 1942 will know what I'm talking about. Say you're in Market Garden on the Alliance side and an Axis player somehow manages to sneak into your base and steals the bomber. You have an all new threat to worry about, as the Germans aren't meant to have that weapon there (or in Omaha beach how someone would sneak back and steal your boat). These were all very good tactics, but the balanced side of it was these people were visible: you could find and kill them before they stole your machinery and prevent them from absolutely destroying you.

Now imagine if that person is invisible, like the rogue class. You're stationed about to run into a tank and then all of a sudden you're sapped or if you're alone, killed. A rogue enters the wooden contraption you were guarding/about to get on and then completely dominates you and the rest of your unsuspecting party. Anyone who has played any game with pvp vehicles in it knows how good one can be. One decent player in a plane/tank he's not meant to have can literally destroy your entire team in other games, and imagine if that one decent player is undetectable and can't be stopped from entering it?

It just makes me quite anxious: will rogues become even more terrifying pvp gods than they already are, or will seige weaponry turn out to be incredibly lame? What are your thoughts?

Rogues are only "terrifying PvP Gods" to undergeared scrubs and in world PvP where we can gank undergeared scrubs while they're farming.

Hopefully Blizz wont gimp us in the same way they do in world pvp objectives. Not being able to cap world pvp towers whilst stealthed is a total *****.. if they apply something like that to the seige engines I will be pissed off.

On the other hand if it works out the same way that ungaurded AB & Eye of storm flags do then yeah, I could see rogues being a new nuisance. Creeping behind enemy lines to blow up their bases would rock.

I am just excited for the PVP designated zone, as I am unfortunately on a PVE server.

Running around perma-flagged brings very little zest into my playtime.

I don't think Blizzard would allow the opposing faction to actually use their own siege equipment against themselves....the idea is simply to destroy it, I would think.

Yea yoshi, that would suck.

In other games, vehicles can be entered by any player. Making them have a "one way" window would break my heart.

most shooters i play, you cant enter a opposing vechicle without them gettin in it first

I just hope it's like BF1942: if it's open you can take it.

Or better yet, have it locked but pickable. Means we have to drop stealth for a bit to get into it, making it a bit more challenging to do.

just cuz you can break into a car, doesnt mean you know how to hot-wire it

i dunno, who knows what they even mean... what kind of weapons... /shrug

Just another gimmick to distract away from real pvp imo.

Doesn't mean it won't be fun... but meh.

AV's still going to be boring with catapults in it.

I understand what you're getting at, Shaolinz, but to be perfectly honest I'm not worried about it at all. WoW is not Battlefield 1942 or any other FPS game.

We don't even know if we're going to be allowed to enter the opposing faction's vehicles or how they're even going to work at all. For all we know they could have zero versus-player application and be used entirely for destroying structures.

Also, it's not just Rogues. Druids and potentially even Mages could do this as well.

True.

When they say seige weapons, I think of one of the tanks sitting in IF with like dual plasma cannons or something. Complete obliteration of other players. They'll probably end up being something cheap like only usable on structures or something like that.

What game version have you been playing? Sure as hell isn't the WoW I know.

For clarification, I see catapults. Maybe a Fireball catapult.

I see siege engines like in Hellfire Peninsula at Zeth'gor.

Castles with one or two big drawbridge style doors that will be able to be entered by hopping into a siege engine and getting to the top of the walls.

Rogues should be able to get catapulted into the opposite factions base. That would make things interesting.

That sounds like a bad movie about the Dark Ages. It probably has Heath Ledger or Orlando Bloom in it, too.

Ewwww.

You obviously never played any FPS competitively Shao, the analogy you drew is just bleh.

Like WT said, its just another gimmick to make PvP (appear) more fun in WoW.

Like the amazing action-packed world PvP in Silithus!!!! Seriously, that sucked.

At least the towers in Hellfire peninsula brought

world pvp to pve realms. Most of the time its either full gladiator geared guys looking for a quick gank, or people who fly off on their mounts as soon as they can.

Hey now,

Halaa is a good fun - the rewards are just not good enough to incite end game people to come back.

The spirit towers in terokkar are also pretty cool. A 6 hour buff that affect being able to get an epic ring or not? Pretty sweet.

The problem with siege engine is that they will be inside a BG or inside a 'pvp only zone' - it's still pvp in a bubble. It doesn't matter... it's only about points and tokens.

If I'm going to have 'pvp in a bubble' I'd much rather it be real pvp - no gimmick, just a fight. Like the arena.

Siege engine would be awesome if you could take them to Org or IF and knocks walls down or something... but a war in a bubble will always turn into what AV is now.
