Currently I'm 66 and planning on switching my specc from protection to holy once I hit 69/70 (I know, how original). My question to those who already are holy specced and healing is that besides standing in the back healing folks (and buffing the group), do you do anything else to help out?

Now I know as a healer, you don't want to draw attention to yourself (your survival = the groups survival), but what about those other pally spells that aid the tanks/dps? I've seen many holy pallies that do nothing but heal the group (and they usually forget about buffs). But I've found when I heal, I can throw on a Seal of Light on the main tank's target or even a hammer of justice to help out without drawing any aggro.

Do you guys have any other strategies as healers that help out the group? (Besides healing and buffing them).

-Seal of Light on a mob that has high health. I don't wanna put it on a mob that will die in 3 seconds. Seal of Wisdom if there are more casters.

-Seal of Justice if runners are a problem.

-Hammer of Justice if a mob breaks and goes toward a squishy.

-Off-tank a mob that doesn't hit too hard.

-Holy Wrath and AoE tank the skellies in SLabs. >_>

That's all I can think of for now.

JoL can be good to throw into the mix if you're having difficulty taking down a particular boss, but remember, this could be a problem if you take damage from AoE. Taking damage from applying JoL is not worth it if you need to waste mana to heal yourself for damage that you would not have otherwise taken, and nothing a quick FoL couldn't have helped your MT or other melee.

I will sometimes throw a Holy Shock in there to help finish off a boss or normal mob, as mana and healing obligations allow. It's just something different, I know it doesn't do a whole lot of damage compaired to other dps.

If one of the rogues in my party is comitting dps suicide, I usually throw a blessing of protection on them. Salvation just doesn't seem to help one of the rogues I know sometimes, mostly because she gets a little excited.
