Prot Spec PvPFollow

Alright, I finally went Prot spec'd due to the huge lack of tanks in my guild. So I have a few questions, first, how would a nicely skilled Prot Warrior fare in PvP? I've watched a few videos, and we don't seem to do too bad. If we're totally useless, I'll mess around with the talent calculator and see what I can come up with, since I plan on PvP'ing heavily and doing a lot of instances.

Also, in PvP, should I still whip out my big bad two hander, or stick with sword and board to optimize my spec and so I can use for SS?

Thanks!

hmm 2h in prot spec? your AP is pitiful at best, isn't it (compared to full pvp or pve specs)? so, best to concentrate on shield slam.

Prot pvp may suck at first, but you always have a place in AV.
Then if you can get yourself geared out in epics, people will really have a hard time killing you, you wont be doing great damage but you will be able to survive for a very long time. This also makes you an idela flag carrier in WSG/EOTS. so in short there is still a place for prot in pvp.

Alternatively you could try an arms/prot hybrid spec, which should make you more viable in pvp, aswell as pve dps.

I personally am currently using 35/5/21

This build I find covers the main tanking talents, whilst leaving dps and pvp still a viable option.

It's harder gearing for Prot PVP than getting fury gear. Stack as much shield block value as possible. Get a very slow high dps main hand (the 1h axe from prince is a great one).

then watch these; http://www.tankspot.com/forums/movies-media/438-current-shield-slam-records.html
