Searching for Gear SetsFollow

#1 Aug 12 2007 at 8:48 AM Rating: Decent
Recently a friend and I switched toons, I now have a 70 rogue with some god awful gear.

The only decent part is the shoulders of assassination. I'm still new to rogues and don't know exactly what i'm looking for but i did some research here and there and decided between
1) getting the rest of the assassination set
2) PVP grand marshal set
3) im in elemental leatherworking, so lvlin that up a bit and start making that set

So far i don't know if i want to do raiding or arena or bg's mostly but i know i need some better gear.

Out of the 3 sets IMO i like the assassination set the best because of the set bonuses but if someone could help me out I would much appreciate it.

Thanks.

I'm not exactly an expert on rogues yet, only 60 here, but I'd say your best bet would be with the assassination set. If you want to do PvP, you should be doing raids first to get the good gear you need. I learned that from some fellow guildies, because that's what I wanted to do too, PvP. But they told me I should get all my gear first so I won't be totally crushed in PvP =P

You really just have to decide what you want to do. If you want to PvE, than the assassination set, or preferably a mix of assassination and off set leather pieces would be your best choice. The waste walker set is also something to look out for once you start doing heroics.

If you want to do PvP, I would get a few pieces of the level 70 blue set. The gloves are a great start, as they give you that awesome bonus to deadly throw (a ranged interrupt/school lockout). Pick up another piece to get the 35 resilience bonus.

The epic PvP off set items are probably the best way to spend your first honor points. You really have to look at how often you are going to play and what you want to do. If you don't have epic raiding items, the epic honor pieces will be very good. I know that I replaced the bracers from maiden with the vet bracers as their DPS stats were just flat out better (not to mention they had extra defensive stats). The other pieces are also good and worth looking at! These are items that you can use for both PvP and PvE.

Since you are leather working, you definitely should work on leveling that up and getting the set made (or at least a piece of it). You mise well make use of your professions! IIRC the primal strike set is pretty decent and would be a great way to start out if you want to start raiding.

If your friend has engineering too farm the mats for those pew pew goggles :)

I think Elemental has a pretty good gear set for Rogues, not entirely sure and have no idea about the recipe locations.
