I recently respeced from my own devised talent line comprising of Demononlogy/Destruction, but i have noticed my health is down nearly 2k and my mana around 400. I can drop several mobs quickly and relatively easily but id like to know if there is a better talent build i could use.
Better how?
Better at killing mobs with no downtime?
Better at killing mobs in general?
Better at DPS in parties/raids?
Better as in the most HP/Mana?
Better at taking multiple mobs?
Really when someone posts these questions they really need to be more specific. Better at WHAT?

There is no "best" talent spec. They are all equally viable, though they have totally different playstyles. How do you like to play your lock?
DoTing and Draining with practically unlimited mana? Affliction.
Have a powerful pet that you support through less powerful DoTs and Drains while his damage and ability to hold hate make up the difference? Demonology.
Nuking like a mage but with a few more tricks up your sleeve? Destruction.
They are all powerful forces to be reckoned with, and all have thier strengths and weaknesses, but are all equal.

I was thinking of respeccing at 50. right now my dps is falling off. my shaman and warlock are roughly the same level. my shaman has now surpassed my warlock in dps, and seems to dominate everything. My shaman is 2 levels lower than my warlock and out dps's her.
I suppose things will get better when I get unstable affliction. Equipment may be an issue; being at the top (well not technically as my hunter has been at 70) she doesn't get "hand me downs". equipment I find and pass down to my other alts (I have 7 horde chars). I found good equipment for my rogue and druid from my higher levels adventuring. I am a tailor, I just don't have the shadow silk. Should I go for those recipes that use shadow silk and improve shadow damage? I just need to find (or buy) the shadow silk. I like my chars to be self sufficient and not blow all my main's money at the ah.
