Hunter altFollow

#1 Aug 08 2007 at 12:41 AM Rating: Decent
Hey guys :)
After playing a warrior to 65, I decided I wanted to make an alt.
So I ended up with a hunter, and like tha fact that im not the one being hit for once he he
My only concern is the seem to be very monotome. At the moment its just hunters mark send in pet, serpent sting, arcane shot autoshot til the mobs dead.
Does this change at higher levels ? or is this pretty much the life of a hunter ? and im not talking about instances or pvp because I know alot more skill is needed to be a good hunter there.
Im only level 20 at the moment by the way.
Any replies apreciated :)

If you plan on taking mobs on one at a time then basically playing a hunter in that style is fairly simple.

What becomes interesting is when you jump into a pack of mobs, or a quest that's designed and marked for groups, rather than solo work. It's times like those that can test how well you've learned to use every little trick up your sleeve.

Basic 1-on-1 PvE work, though, is pretty much the same throughout, given similar mobs. Just go out there, push the envelope and see what you can do

Warriors push more buttons, and if they are Tank spec they have the same need for tactical awareness as Hunters do. So if pushing a lot of buttons equates to fun for you, you might stick with your Warrior, or try a Rogue. Rogues mash the most buttons, in my opinion.

Hunters have a better view on the battlefield since we are ranged, and so I believe that we have a better possible tactical awareness. But that depends on the player.

Hunters can fight multiple opponents at once, but so can Warriors. Hunters just go about it differently. Freeze one, shoot another, sic Pet on a third, and manage aggro on everything. Warriors just need to get hate on multiple mobs and keep it. Which is an admirable role, but rather different then the perspective of a Hunter.

But yeah, Mark, send Pet, Scorpid Sting (Serpent Sting is ok at your level, but not so much later), and Auto Shot until dead. That's the life of a Hunter in a nutshell while soloing. It does become a lot more dynamic and exciting in groups and Instances, but the same can be said for how Warriors play. No Warrior has trouble holding aggro while soloing, right? :)
