The Shaman/paladin combo is very powerful due to the number of compatible buffs, you can really power it up. The only problem I can forsee is that Shamans level quickly and Paladins level VERY slowly. You may get way ahead of him quite quickly unless you only play together and you play your hunter the rest of the time.

Actually if you could just put WoW aside for a month or so that would be great. During that time, please take some grammar classes or something. It's called a period. They are fun!

QFT. On Alla, it's always a better idea to use proper grammar. If that's too much of a challenge, at the least you can try. 'talkin lik dis is nt acpted n00b lolz' -- you see how that can get annoying?

Just a word of advice.

Everyone always says this, but I've been leveling a Shaman recently and I've found it to be a monumental pain in the ***. I've not found it to be one bit quicker than leveling my Pally, and yes, I am leveling Enhancement.

Really hoping that'll change once I get dual-wield at 40.

Anyways... Shaman and Paladin can buff each other to kingdom come which is incredibly useful for PvE, but in PvP they are a pretty lame combination. Between Cleanse and Purge you can remove just about every harmful effect to yourselves and every beneficial effect from your enemies, but both classes suffer from a complete lack of mobility and both are heavily reliant on low-chance-based procs from auto-attacks to do any significant damage. (Unless the Shaman is Elemental; that would really be a saving grace, but it's hard to level. If either class is heal-specced, you're going to be pretty hard to kill, but you'll have an even harder time killing things than if you were leveling Ret/Enhance.)

If you're going to be leveling on a PvP server together, it's just something you might want to consider. Any kind of ranged caster is more or less going to rape you, possibly both of you.

Or you just shut up.
Do you understand the concept of a multi-national game?
It means that you have people from other places that might have other native languages.

Me for example...well i am dutch..so might make a few spelling errors.
But hey..unless you can speak dutch as good as i do aswell you realy dont have a right to complain.

Now stfu thank you.

levelling shammy as enhance has been fast to me. Though early 30's were slow. That may have been due to lack of a good weapon. Once you get stormstrike things speed up. My paladin is holy, so of course that is show as molasses. Eventually she'll be a holy shockadin, but doesn't have enough talent points for that yet.

Once you get into the flow of a Shaman it really speeds up, key talents like SS and DW really help too. And Shamanistic Rage will cut your downtime in half if used well.

I have leveled 3 Shaman's and am leveling my second Paladin now, I got my last Shaman to 70 in less time than it has taken me to get my current Paladin to 40 o.O I'm hoping AoE prot grinding will speed that process up or at least make it more fun...

Ability to speak Dutch means nothing on a website that is in English. The OP was clearly not a foreigner but, quite simply, someone who has forsaken punctuation.

Proper grammar aside, my opinion is to pick which class you enjoy playing the most and stick with it. What would happen if said buddy quits and you are left with a 70 that you dont enjoy and that you wasted countless hours on? If you think hunters are fun stick with it.

Eh... this is where I have a subjective argument with the status quo. If a class takes until 40 or 50 until it actually "picks up" and comes into its own... that's not really what I would consider a fast leveler overall.

I'm mid-30's at the moment, two-handing the Manual Crowd Pummeler with Windfury, and honestly... it's crap. My survivability is crap, my killing speed is crap, and if I try to pour any mana at all into my offense my efficiency goes straight down the drain.

I try to use totems to augment myself, but at the moment I'm pretty much limited to Searing Totem (which is cheap, but laughable damage over way too much time) and Strength of Earth, which is difficult to lay when I need Stoneclaw to deal with even a single add.

I really pride myself on my ability to play just about any class to its fullest, but maybe there's just something I'm not "getting" with Shaman. Or maybe it really does just take that 40-50 mark to pick up, I don't know.

Yeah, you're kind of in the same boat with your Pally that I'm in with my Shaman at the moment... I'm really hoping dual-wield + mail at 40 will rectify this discrepency I'm seeing.

A big part of your problem may be your weapon, the MCP is a bad shammy weapon, the base damage is just too low, to get the maximum effect out of WF you want a slow weapon with a high base damage, ignore the dps line, WF changes everything. Try for Corpsemaker or the axe from thermaplugg, if you are alliance get the SM quest from desolace and get yourself bonebiter.

I'll be 35 in two bars, at which point I can start Down the Scarlet Path.

Actually, I tried for both Thermaplugg's Left Arm and the Corpsemaker for about two weeks before I finally just gave up. For some reason or other it was just a deadzone, no one looking for either of those instances at any time.
