Druid Build F/RFollow

#1 Aug 06 2007 at 9:17 AM Rating: Decent
Hi,

I'm a druid lvl 13, i was thinking of a Feral/resto druid. Is this good for PvE, won't do PvP.

The thing is that i can't heal while shapeshift, so i'm thinking it may not be as good as i though first since my HoT are not working too in shapeshift.

Anyway, something like this : 0/34/27

Any tips or suggestions?

At that level go complete feral and collect cloth / leather healing gear. You wont need to worry about spec issues until you get closer to 60.

As feral druid with all three armor sets you can be: Healer, DPS, Tank. With that many role abilities at your disposal you will have almost no problems getting a group if you choose to run them.

Scarlet Monestary was best for me in the mid 30s. I healed from like 32-35, DPS from 35-38, and tanked / DPS the rest of the lvls I was there for. I loved it.

Mattimer

Edit: I currently have a 36 rogue and have a much harder time finding groups for him. Dang the extreme lack of diversedness. ( did i just make that word up? )

As far as "my HoT are not working in shapeshift" -- you can't cast them in feral forms, but if you cast one and pop into feral form it still ticks for ya. So for tough fights you can pop a regrowth on yourself, go into form, then fight...the HoT will offset incoming damage for the first part of the fight.

Your spec looks EXTREMELY gimped both ways to me. Unnecessarily, too. There's too many fantastic talents in the feral tree to gimp yourself there to be a better healer than you need to be. Like Mattimer said you can heal effectively for a LONG time even spec'd fully feral if you just collect a 'healing set.' I'm level 70 with just the 11 resto points that don't benefit healing, (furor, naturalist, omen of clarity) and I still very effectively heal parties through 5-man group quests and instances that are at or just below my level. Not heroics or anything, but that's what true healers are for.

For as long as you need to worry about, that'll just mean a lot of +int to boost your mana pool. Then at higher levels there'll be +healing gear to consider.

I'm fully feral and don't know the resto tree well, but the two that I most wish I had you are missing: Nature's Focus and Nature's Swiftness. If you do want to do a feral/resto hybrid spec, which I wouldn't personally recommend, check the recommended "versatility build" in the sticky...http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=MZxMGsfbkxZVEczcq0bo

Well i think i got my answer. Thnks to both of you. I can see i have a lot to learn... For sure, i'll go Full Feral. A feral druid still heal, and my regular party already have a Priest. I just can't wait to get to Cat form. I'm now lvl 14.

Thnks again !

You already got an answer to your question, I'm just piping in with a stick-with-it. If you think it's fun now wait til 20 (cat form), 30 (travel form), and my personal favorite though people rarely mention it, 36 (pounce). It's one of those classes that just gets better and better and better. Even with a serious case of alt-itis I have no interest in any other class (and hence am up to, um, 3 druids now...).
