My warrior is closing up on 30, which opens up for Slam, Improved slam and my Whirlwind Axe.
What I need some guidance to, however, is Bloodthirst a necessarity when you use it for nothing but pve? I plan on using a slam spec, or atleast an utility (DW) spec until 70, when I'm going to spec Protection or some other.

I'd say BT is a necessity, along with any tier 7 talent. I suggest that you go 2h fury all the way while leveling. Stick to this and you'll do just fine.
